laissez faire is a small word that appears fancy only because it is in french.

But thanks. It is a nice change from duals and nucular.

actually it's a phrase, but that's a technicality.

Capitalists are all about laissez faire until they see their own neck on the chopping block.

I agree, and someone has to write the check.

Nice big word drop for peels.

Yeah, and Ford and GM's rep flew to Washington on private jets.

Detroit to Washington via Northwest $288 roundtrip coach. First Class $857

Round trip via Gulfstream 4, $20,000.

They own the jet, but thats par for fuel costs, and uncle sam will be picking up that tab in a write off.

Obviously they aren't too concerned about cash.

UAW contracts need to renegotiated or torn up. That's costing them a fortune. GM makes money in Europe and Asia, but can't here because of labor costs.

Factory shuts down due to production or a holiday, and you still get 95% of your wages!

Move me to the top, I'll do the job for a million or less, fly coach, and put out of work people to work. F*ck the union!

+1 to the that. It is hard to say that without people thinking you are blaming the workers though. If all that was offered to me, I might take it as well. Unfortunately, those people were making too much money for entry level positions. Execs ate the rest. It is very sad to think about all those jobs (over 60%) being gone,... already. :(
