Old news, stayed off the mainstream media for the most part.  I wonder how much coverage it would of gotten if Bush did something like that.   ::)

George would have been crucified......Obama's still popular with the majority, and is doing some things that the public like. If George would have had public support, things would have been much different for him.

P.I.M.P.

The world needs more people like this guy! He almost killed himself and cut off his arm but isn't trying to sue anybody. Maybe somebody, or something let him live because they knew what kind of person he was and wouldn't blame someone else for his actions.

Some calling for Sand Dune regulations, but injured driver isn't
May 6th, 2009 @ 10:05pm
By John Hollenhorst

SALT LAKE CITY -- The accidental death of former Congressman Bill Orton has focused new attention on the dangers of dune buggies. Now a YouTube video of a spectacular crash last Sunday at Little Sahara Sand Dunes has added to the debate.

As horrible as the crash looks, we're happy to report the driver, Chris Torres, survived; surgeons were able to reattach his severed right hand.

Torres spoke to KSL Wednesday afternoon from the intensive care unit he is hospitalized in. He said no one should use his accident as an argument for more regulation; he did a wheel stand on purpose, but the landing was not what he expected.

Chris Torres was seriously injured when his dune buggy rolled at the Little Sahara Sand Dunes last weekend. Still, he doesn't think the regulations should be placed on the recreation area.

Torres also emphasized that drugs and alcohol were not involved, and his dune buggy proved itself. "It did not crush. It did not collapse. It protected me, and I'm here alive today because the car did its job," he said.

But his friend, Ron Cobbley, who sold the dune buggy to Torres just last week, called us to emphasize a different point: unsafe conditions at Little Sahara Sand Dunes are because of crowding and extreme driving.

"My concern is there isn't any rules when you get out on the sand," Cobbley said. He wants more training and education, possibly some kind of traffic control and riders wearing helmets and wrist restraints to keep arms inside the vehicle.

Torres used a harness but not wrist restraints, a key reason he injured both arms and severed his right hand.

"It basically was a tragedy, what happened to this guy, and I don't know that it could have been prevented or not," Cobbley said. "I just think that there's no rules when it comes to off-road."
Little Sahara typically has over 100 accidents and two or three deaths each year. "There are so many folks that go there and use that area we're really surprised there aren't more accidents than occur out there," said Eric Stucki, with Utah State Parks and Recreation.

Government overseers strongly support more education, but not necessarily more regulation. "How many times have we heard that the federal government is over-regulating this activity or that activity? We have to find a balance of some sort," said Glenn Carpenter, West Desert district manager for the Bureau of Land Management.

Except for the failure to use wrist restraints, Torres says he did his wheel stand stunt safely, including the use of spotters up and down the hillside. "We did everything the way that we should have done it, correctly, and I don't think that any kind of a regulation would have helped or deterred this accident from happening," he said.

Later this year, Utah State Parks plans to launch an online training program so off-roaders can get up to speed on safety by learning at their computer.

Sexy Mormon Moms Lick Muffins, Anger Church Officials
http://www.asylum.com/2009/04/29/sexy-mormon-moms-lick-muffins-anger-church-officials/

When it comes to sexy religions, Mormons have been eating the dust of Catholic schoolgirls for too long. Now, hot Mormon moms are posing in sexy shots for a calendar to be released in June.

Chad Hardy, founder of Mormons Exposed, is the calendar's publisher. "It's very sexy, but at the same time it's so cute," Hardy said of the 2010 calendar which features the Mormon MILFs alongside muffin recipes.

Hardy was excommunicated from the Church of of Latter-day Saints in response to his male version of the calendar, entitled "Men on a Mission."

For our part, we think Hardy's dedication to bringing us beautiful Mormon moms dressed as naughty schoolteachers and dirty Santa's helpers shows that he has truly taken to heart the spirit of charity that the church embodies.

She'd make me turn mormon......

HEPPNER, Ore. – On a spring day in 1953, two baby girls were born at Pioneer Memorial Hospital in eastern Oregon. They grew up happily, got married, had kids of their own and became grandparents. Then last summer their lives were turned upside down.

Kay Rene Reed Qualls found out that she and DeeAnn Angell Shafer were switched at birth.

They recently met for the first time and underwent DNA tests after a woman who knew both their mothers called Qualls' brother with her suspicion.

Qualls' brother, Bobby Reed, said the 86-year-old woman knew his mother and had also lived next door to the Angell family.

"She said she had something she had to get off her chest," he told the East Oregonian newspaper in a story published Monday.

The woman, whom he declined to identify by name, told him that his mother, Marjorie Angell, had insisted back in 1953 she had been given the wrong baby after the nurses returned from bathing the two newborns, but her concerns were brushed off.

The woman showed Bobby Reed a photo.

"It looked like Kay Rene in about 7th or 8th grade," he said.

But it wasn't. It was DeeAnn Shafer's sister.

"Kay Rene is not a Reed," the woman insisted. "DeeAnn is a Reed."

Bobby Reed was stunned, learning later that rumors of a mix-up had been around for years. In early February, Shafer learned the truth in a telephone call from her sister, Juanita.

"Do you remember those rumors of being switched at birth?" she asked, and went on to provide the update.

"Does this mean I'm not invited to the family reunion?" Shafer joked.

Qualls, Bobby Reed and one of their sisters met Shafer at a Kennewick, Wash., clinic last month for DNA testing. A week later, Qualls got the results, learning her likely probability of being related to her brother and sister was zero.

"I cried," she said. "I wanted to be a Reed — my life wasn't my life."

Shafer's DNA report said she had 99.9 percent of being related to Bobby and Dorothy Reed. Now living in Richland, Wash., Shafer said the report only confirmed what she knew after meeting Qualls.

"After seeing Kay Rene, I went home and told my husband, I don't know why she's doing the DNA testing," she said. "I was shocked — she looked just like my sister's twin."

Pioneer Memorial Hospital offered to pay for counseling, but both women declined.

The two have become friends and celebrated their May 3 birthday together. Recently, Qualls introduced Shafer to her work colleagues, calling her "my swister."

"I'm trying to move forward at look at the positive," Shafer said. "You can't look back. It just drives you crazy."

That's CRAZY!!!!
