Randy...I wouldn't say I support gay marriage...But I support human beings rights to make their own decisions without being judged by peple who are in NO POSITION to judge anyone else.

my opinion...

I'm a christian as well. I'm all for people having rights. I think gays should be allowed to be gay. But I do not believe in gay marriage. Marriage was found to bind the love of a man and a woman. Gays can love I'm sure just as much as myself and my wife.. But I'm against them having a legal binding marriage. My opinion. That's all.

I don't have any facts to back anything up I'm saying and I don't care. just my opinion.

I lean that way slightly as well Krandall. But then that makes me feel like I am discrimitaning against somebody.
It is my lack of religious beliefs that is the difference I assume.

It's nice and warm on the dark side.  Are those flames?

I'll be back guys....gotta go watch an episode of WIll and Grace with the kids....

Why are you against them having a legally binding marriage?  If we're seperating legally from religiosly (yeah I made that up) then it should be ok, right?  We're talking about legal rights to property and estate and shit like that.

I respect your opinion though.  I'm just asking questions.

It's really all religiously for the reason that I'm completely against. How I was raised was that a Wedding is a holy sacrement though. That  marriage is ordained by GERD for the lifelong union of a man and a woman.

I see your point for a "legal" bound marriage. But that's just not in my deffenition of marriage.

Same here. I can understand the arguments for both sides...My biggest thing is when people start judging other people because of their beliefs...pisses me off!

Yeah, we watched "birdcage" last night.

ERMAHGERD I have tears in my eyes.

I remember the first time I witness homosexuality. You'll never guess which state I was in!   We had gone out to Pismo Beach for the day and I saw two dudes holding hands. They were wearing hippylike clothing and tiny round chrome plated glasses. I still equate that look to gayness sometimes. I just remember my Mom being really informative and saying that it was a life choice. Not something they really support, but they do not judge those that do. I am so thankful I had intelligent parents.

Do any of you that support gay marriage have children ? If so, would it not bother you to have them exposed to homosexuality at a young age so they accept it as the norm?

I have two.  Are you connecting to homosexuality to pedophelia?  You might wanna look at the statistics reagrding that one.  Erich can vouch for me.  I'm a stat geek.  Anyways, both of my children have been "exposed" to homosexuals.  Whatever that means.

No I am not connecting to homosexuality to pedophilia........ that would be just plain ignorant  ???

Yes this bothers me alot, but bigotry and discrimination towards any human or American is worse. So my boys will know that while gay marriage is not the first choice, we will not treat those that take that path as anything less than fellow human beings. If my children end up with that issue, I will treat them as nothing less than my children.  Wouldn't you?

I will say I have a problem with homosexuality being almost championed sometimes by the media/society. I do not like it in my face all the damn time. Reality shows etc. Gay people cannot be cool just because they are gay. That makes me puke a little.

I agree with most all of what your saying, and I totally agree with being sick of having it shoved in my face.

What I hate is when people that have no moral convictions tell me that I am a bigot because I refuse to accept Homosexuality as normal. Where is my right to not have to see that immoral BS.....Am I supposed to stay home so I don't have to see what sickens me flaunted in public....tell me it don't bother one of you here to see two dudes swapping spit?  That makes me want to puke and if I had a small child I would not want them to see that. Am I to  quit watching TV other than old Disney re runs. hows that fair to the majority? It seems democracy is only good for those that agree with what the majority wants.  I see a big time double standard here. Why have we been so worried about making sure Homosexuals couples get the same benefits  and legal rights as legally married heterosexual couples that we have infringed on the right of the moral majority to be able to go a day with out this crap shoved down are throats.

Luckily my daughter is 23 YO now and is as normal as a kid can get in todays society. I thank the lord every day he didn't challenge me with being the parent of a homosexual child.....I would not be able to deal with that.
