Is GM realy going bankrupt? Or is the Govt going to bail out?

Hard to say.

GM files BK, it will kill current UAW contracts (which unions are a big part of the problem), and kills retirement benefits for GM employees, BUT it will really help restructure things for them to make building an auto profitable.

1 out of every ten jobs is tied to the auto industry. Auto makers by the majority of steel to make cars. Then suppliers that supply plastics, moulding, electronics, etc. are at stake too. That's why I feel it's necessary for the government to help.

Agreed. In my opinion, it's not entirely CEO's of automakers at fault The automaker's expenses to operate the company and their ability to build a quality product have killed the market. High labor costs are a major issue. That's why Dodge has a plant in Mexico to build their best selling truck!
