nice to know there are few mini-me around 8)

I'm 6'8" 280.  Trust me, you are the mini-me.

Doesn't that make you Fat Bastard?   JK  JK don't hurt me!!!

at 6'8"  the number 280 isn't fat at all.  But I'll remember that comment when you come this way this fall.

:'(

I'm still to fast for you to catch, I still run a ~4.5 40yard dash

Can you out run my 7mil mag?

No  :'(

but when you want a lesson on how to shoot it, I'm game

I was state champ when I was 15.  Yeah, I own you there.

Marine Corp Rifle Expert, 6th award, our targets aren't stationary

Trust me, I'm not scared of any military guy.  There was a TON of ex military guys at the tournament, some of them were the best in their field.  Shooting is one thing I do well and I'll take on anyone.  So all I have to say is  BRING IT!

I was REALLY into it back then.  I had full plans to join the service and be a sniper.  There were a few guys that "thought" they were good there, they sure got pissed when they got owned by a kid.  But then there was a few that were no joke, they were more then happy to see me doing well, the whole treating me like a kid brother thing.  I still look up to those guys.  They could never tell me their "good stories"

most will tell you that 99% of the time they have the most boring job in the military. But I bet that last 1% is a nice rush  :grin_nod:

socalrappy700

They could only tell me the 99%   :(

I miss doing it, I keep telling my dad we need to get back into it.  He was a pistol guy but I went rifle.  He will still get out his "braggin" target.  He fooled even the judges at first by putting all 6 through the same hole.  Had to have it examined to see the 6 individual rings.

That would be SO much fun.  My dad and I have talked about that for years.  Keep an eye out for a sweet lodge up there in the mountains for us  We've looked at a few out in Montana.  I want to get out there soon.

What set up do you use for elk?  I was always wondering what I should bring.

I use my 30-06 works fine.  Your 7mm mag be fine too, If you can find them, over under scope mounts work good.  You'd be suprised at how many open site shots you could get in the thick stuff.

I'd run a heavy round for them in your mag and site for 300.
