Maybe I missed it, but what the diffrence between an SE rear shock and the regular 700R rear shock?  I thought they were the same?

This is right from the site.  The SE has a high/low speed adjustment. 

This is the rear shock descriptions:

700R
Cast aluminum swingarm, 10.1" w/rebound, compression and threaded preload adjustment

700 SE
Cast aluminum swingarm, 10.1" travel w/piggy back with high/low speed compression, rebound and threaded preload adjustment

All the 700R's do.  I don't know why it didn't say that.

On the 07 they are different....I the 08's they are the same.

So how all got thre shock redone?? I really wish someone eles cold ride my bike to witenss how amazing these shocks are!

At first they were pretty typical decent pair of elkas, now they use EVERY bit of travel in the shock. I swear in the hard fast woops the fronts move 2 foot either way!


We have a sandy are we ride at that has a woop section that probabally 3-400 yards long. the woops tops are about 6 foot apart and a good 3-4 feet deep. before i could only get to the bottom of fourth gear, now, its as fast as i want to go. Which is usually 5 gear pinned!

Also, i talked to him about my shock setup. I was conceren about the frame touching on a really big jump. That kinda freeked me out when that happened. So i called josh and he said that on the biggest harshest jump you hit you frame should touch the ground. He said that that is a good sign that you are using all of your suspension travel.

Low and behold, when it touched it was the biggest, harshest jump out.

That and last tuesday I gave him a shock to due and it was done on saturday morning. Would have been next day, but had to wait on Elka to ship a part from canada.

It's funny you mention that!!  I was watching an older Heuvos last nite (7 I think  ).  I noticed that after every major jump their suspension was completely collapsed and frame was touching, or almost touching, the ground.

My frame has kissed the ground a few times on the major jumps out in ocotillo wells.
