anybody got suggestions for a good starter electric guitar.

i was thinking about an epiphone les paul or an fender strat

didn't care for epiphone les paul, I liked my Ibanez. Depends on what you play: classic rock, les paul is good. I always played metal with dsitortion so I like having the humbcker at the base.

thats what i was wanting to play, ive played my friends Ibanes GRX20 with a distortion pedal, hooked up to a 10W practice amp it sounded alright, just sounded like it rang too much

Yeah, didn't care for the les paul-wasn't comfortable for palm-muting and alternate picking. Sounded great for lead, blues. Gotta go do some yard work, i won't derail you fella's whoring today.

cody can you actually play? im just learning, i have a stagg guitar, but its not that great, i got it new fo 200 with a small practice amp, a few picks, and a case. if i learn i may get a different one though.

i can play a couple of little licks and some chords. nothing special.
