Those gears are for a 700 but the change in mph is the same for a 660 or whatever. One tooth in front is equal to 3 in back

Without any mods the top speed may not increase because the motor is underpowered for tall gearing & you have to account for wind resistance which eats up power

sorry for the late reply, it has a k&n airfilter and the guy i bought it from (not even a month ago) said he had is rejetted and cleaned the carb or what ever. 60mph=like 96-100 kph. also i got my reverse working. and thanks for all the replies

I would say pick yourself up a nice slip on exhaust because without an exhaust that k&n isnt really helping much. About what is your budget  ???

Slips ons have limited performance gains. The head pipe needs to be replaced for maximun performance.  A slip on will make it louder    I would spend the money once & do it right, find a pipe that meets your DB requirements.

Hey Krandall...he did. I am not sure what the mini hos did to this thread.

700rse:  Try speed sensor removal mod, if it does not change anything ,I would say go ahead and clean the carbs...new air filter. Adjust throttle cable, could be strectched, and too much play, but that is a long shot.

Krandall

oop, my bad. I musta missed that.

the only thing I can think of OTHER than the carb.. Is if the previous owner played w/ the gearing,

he never said anything about changing the gearing. but you think its the carb? not that im a bit heavy for it so it doest quite do what its capable of? because i was reading some stuff and the 660s usually dont do more then 70mph(112-115kph) so maybe i just slow it down? thanks again

Krandall

I wouldn't consider 215lbs overweight by any means though.

Hope not, I am right at 200. Mine is a clunker and still managed 73 with similar mods. Maybe problem is electrical.....does it sputter at full speed? If so, that is your speed limiter, just a guess.

If you are using smaller diameter tires than stock then you will be geared down and need to increase the front sprocket size or reduce the rear sprocket size  :) to go faster
