Hi guys i am a newbie to this modding and the atv scene, i have been reading as much as i can to try and learn as much as i can.
I was wondering if you guys could help me with a few questions.
I want to use the rappy for normal trail riding and for the dunes, can a pc3 be used on a 660 ? I also want to put a big bore kit on but still want to run regular pump gas and was trying to workout which kit is most reliable as i read some where that the je pistons are not that great. Has anyone got the coal shed racing 719 kit on there rappy ? As i was thinking of getting it.
I was also wondering if i would be able to run a stage 2 cam with the 719 kit and still run pump gas.
Oh 1 last thing which year did they make the black rappy with the red frame or was that a special edition model only?
Sorry this was a bit long and thanks for the help. :grin_nod:

Welcome abord.

The 660 isn't fuel injected, and the PC3 is for the fuel injected 700 (686).

If you're wanting a dependable build, go with the 686 kit, and run pump gas.

If you're just going to use it on trails, etc, drop a new piston in, new grind on the cam, and rejet. Very reliable, and a nice snappy punch over the factory specs.

The 2003 Raptor SE was black with the red frame.

PLUS......We are way too cool to have a PC3!

Exhaust, Intake, Rejet-then Rock Out! Remove lid if planning on staying dry.

After that- cam, then piston, then porting.  Then big bore. Unless you have good flow of cash, then Get the bore kit now plus all the other stuff, like Flynbyu says.

Welcome to the site!

I don't remember black with red frame on a 660. That didn't happen til last year with the 700 se. Correct me if I am wrong. I do remember white with red frame, though. ???

I was going to save up the $ then get the parts so i could do the build in 1 go.
The 719 kit from coal shed racing said it is able to run on 93 octane an i think it is a stroker kit that runs 10.75:1.
If i went with the 686 kit which is the best kit to buy?
What i had in mind was the kit with a stage 2 cam, new valves & springs and a chrome molly crank as i dont want this craping out on me.
Could you advise me on a good setup, exhaust, jet kit, cam blah blah. Thanks :)

If you are doing a bunch of engine internal mods, I would consider Barker's dual exhaust. Most flow. Dynojet jet kit. Go for a twin intake setup as well.

Or just go with 10.1 piston and a stage 2 cam and springs. Ok for Pump gas. Anymore compression, gas quality becomes a bigger issue.

719 is a stroker kit, right?

There has been issues with the crank in those kits. Jut do your homework and ask lots of questions.

I like the Barker's Dual Exhaust System but I don't like the way the pipes run on the outside of the frame.

Thanks for letting me know the stroker kits have had problems

I was looking around at the 686 kits and came across the Stealth 686 Big Bore Kit that Maxpower Engines do.
http://www.maxpower-engines.com/big-bore-kits-ATV/yfz686-stealth.htm

Is it a good price & do you know if anyone has had problems with it ?

How would this work for a complete setup & any idea if it would be able to run on pump ?

686 big bore Stealth Kit, Stage 2 Hot Cam, Springs, Head porting, Dynatek cdi box, Twinair pro flow air filter, Dynajet Jet Kit, Hindle Titanium Stealth Off-road full system.

By far, the 686 will be much more reliable.

PM one of our sponsors and see what they have in stock.

+1 on that

I agree with you on the duals going out of the frame. I think somebody out there is making an inframe dual?  ???

The man himself (Tim Barker) is a member/sponsor here, so you can ask about his dual setup. PM him for more info (member tbarker)
