I'm not a tree huggin hippie by any means, I'm for finding out how to lower gas costs, but Drilling in Alaska seems like a stretch ....

It's not a fix, it's a bandaid. Some how they need to bump funding for some big scientists and get this solved. If they can figure out how to make a cloaking device, (pretty sweet) they can make a freakin renewable gas.

+1

6 million acres in the Gulf we aren't drilling, and it's much closer to refineries in TEXAS vs. Alaska.

~Brian

On thing that will help is the Alaskan pipeline.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trans-Alaska_Pipeline_System

This makes it much easier to get it down here.  And the main reason they want this so much is because of the amount up there.  Way more then in the gulf.  Put I do have a touch of environmental in me so I hope they can work hard to find ways to protect the area they are working in.  It can be done, they will just need tight regulation.

And lets not all jump the gun by jumping on McCain for picking Palin for his VP.  Yes her state has a smaller population but she is a maverick, she doesn't take any bull shit and she shakes things up.  Anyone who pisses of their own party is ok in my books, because that is because they are willing to work with the "other side of the room" to get things done.  And this is what we need right now more then ever.  This was one reason Regan was so successful, he was willing and able to work with the other side.  It would ruffle a few fethers but he always had the skill to sell his ideas.  Oh, and she races snowmobiles.....should be a +1 for our group.

Feeling better?

I read you got a little sick. It happens to me at times too. Usually when I don't eat anything before flying/boating. I just love the tricks the inner ear can play.

I was just a dumb ass and didn't drink enough water.  I still have the headache this morning.  It wasn't too hot out.  (80's and perfect on the water) but I was in the sun all day.  Just wasn't smart enough to take the time to drink up.  But yesterday was some of the most fun I've had all summer.  These are some of the most down to earth and coolest people I've been around.  But like I was talking to Jenee' last night, these people are "old" money.  Most rich dicks are people who just came into money or had it handed to them.  One thing I can say is these people know how to throw a bbq...granted it would take me two paychecks to do the same but it was some damn good eating.

And I got my first ride on a donzi boat.  I've only heard of them a few times but this was one sick boat.  I even got some wheel time.....just don't tell my old teammates.
