my dad was actually looking at used vipers, for like an 05 or 06. but then i talked him into an 08 and he really liked the upgrades on the 08 and wanted one brand new so we started looking and we found one for 79k wich was a hell of a deal. the cheapest used viper we could find was for 76k and it was a coupe wich my dad didnt want. so we got this bad boy. we put 150 miles on her.

the viper is a joke, why dont they go ahead and spend some of the money they make over charging for that car and re-design it.  they've been making that car for like 15years on the same chassis with the same motor, and same tranny.  they just make little changes here and there and change a couple body panels and put some new wheels on it.  just my opinion of the car, dont get me wrong the car is f*ckn nasty and i would love to own one but when its compared to a vette i would go with 07 Z06 and use all the extra cash on after market parts, EX. twin turbo, haha. vette lover for life.
you sir
are stupid

I love your come back kid.  When someone says something you don't like all you can pull out is an insult.  Your just a kid with blinders on.  You like the viper and thats fine....I can see why.  But you talk everything else down.  I am a fan of the auto, I love them all in some way.
no no its not that at all. its the fact that he is talkiing about a car that he has no idea about. for instance, saying the engines were all the same...........

compaired to

??? ??? ??? ??? ???

It is the same motor maybe you should know something about the car your gonna talk shit about, they've used the same engine the whole life of the car.  One year they would upgrade the valves, then one year a lighter crank...and so on they would just change a thing or two every year to keep up then when they couldnt change anything else they just added a super charger.  i dont really think a supercharger is what that car needs, you could barely drive the car safetly before the supercharger and now they just add more power.  the vette is definitly a safer and easier car to drive FAST!

Most Vipers I've seen with aftermarket goodies are turbos or twin turbos, but those are few and far between here.

The Viper engine has almost remained the same. New for 2008: Better flowing heads, cam-in-cam variable valve timing on the exhaust cam lobes, and dual electronic throttle bodies. The rev limit was able to be increased by 300 rpm due to the improved valve-train stability from both the new camshaft profiles and valve-springs. The engine is virtually the same, other than using some lighter weight components since the original car was built in 1991. The Viper's engine weighs very close to the 700 lb. mark.

There were a couple of other changes. They reworked the exhaust on the 2008 model to try to reduce the heat inside the driving compartment. The reason the interior is hot on pre 2008 models is the engine exhaust crossovers are located under the seats, which causes your arse to fry.

Curb weight on the 2008 is 120lbs heavier than the previous model, but the 2008 model is the fastest Viper built yet other than the track version ACR.

The driver makes a huge difference in the handling of these types of cars. The SCCA rents a 30 acre chunk of ashphalt from the sawmill I work at and I have ridden in a 911 GT3, Z06, and a 1997 L79? vette and the L79 was the fastest lap time. The two other drivers are seasoned drivers but the other was a national champ. A guy has a supercharged Viper that competes with Miatas because the track is tight enough that ha can't use the legs of the Viper.

Gallardo is a neat car, but the Z06/Viper/ZR1 is quicker for less money. The Gallardo is a much better built car, but not near as realiable in the engine/transmission. Burn a clutch in a Lambo = You've just dropped ten grand.
