Help! With suspension...!!!

I only have a few hours on my newly acquired 700, but I am already feeling some tippyness when trying to push it in the corners. It just feels a little high centered and a little narrow. This is probably due to me coming from a 500+ lb duning DS650 bored out to 730 with full suspension (was over 50 inches wide). She handled very well but was heavy, which probably made it seem much more planted in the turns.

I am aware of most of the suspension setups (shock makers, arm makers and kits). but am just looking at what is the best deal as far as price goes.

I am loving the idea of the motowoz/sli-cast combo, but am a bit worried about the price. One area I am thinking about "cutting a corner" is the arms... sli-cast are about 500-600 right? What about a set of ASR's in +2? They are about 400. There are plenty of other companies out there (I only know of about 4-5, im sure there are closer to a dozen). Seems as long as a-arms are constructed well I should not have a problem with them or even notice a difference when riding.

What about the shocks? I really like the motowoz (too bad it wont match my color scheme, but I can make exceptions for a NICE front end!). What are the costs for the various options? The typical settings are fine...resevoir with dual/triple rate and compression/rebound adjust. I dont think they have high/low comp adjust?

There is always the I-shock kit but I am really on the fence about it. If the cost is within 20% of the motowoz setup I cant really see saving the money...

Also... I take it an extended axle is the best bet for the rear? I saw the spacers and the extended hubs, but with both of those options costing nearly 100 it seems the g-force axle for under 200 is the best bet.

I need input! I knew just about EVERYTHING for the DS...but the 700 is a whole new ball game!

I just want my 700 to handle as well as possible and maybe lower the center of gravity an inch or so (can do that via ride heigh/sag but I do not want to sacrifice all of my travel to give it a lower COG).

Thanks in advance guys!!

One thing I was just thinking... I coudl always do + 2 arms now and leave my stock shocks on. The stock shocks seem to be pretty nice (I have the 07 SE ones). Another option would be to revalve the shocks all around, and have them valved for +2 arms in the front...

This whole package would be 300-500 for a-arms and how much for the revalve front and rear? maybe 200-300? I assume I would not need them resprung. This seems like a good way to widen the front up and get a slightly better ride than I have now without spending huge bucks on arms & aftermarket shocks...any ideas?

suspension and the front end is NOT the thing to cut corners on. List your riding style and terrain and maybe we can help you out a bit for that choice. As for the axle, RPM dominator II, lifetime warranty and strong and cheaper than durablues. ask kenny.

I dont actually get to ride as much as I would like to being so busy with school and all.

I live in the midwest so there is a considerable amount of FLAT riding. I like doing high speed runs through the fields and seeing how fast I can make her go around the corners. I jump occasionally but it is not a huge thing for me (maybe 5-10%). Woods riding, open fields and maybe 10% dunes (only on the trips...nothing local of course).

I am thinking the lower part of my post (talking about new arms and revalved shocks) would be a good bet?

I guess I also have to remember I can sell the a-arm set... just some orange arms sold on ebay with one missing ball joint went for almost 200. If  I could get a couple hundred for the arms and that would pay for like half of the new arms. So 200ish for arms (maybe 300 if I go houser) and XXX.XX Cost for the revalve... seems like a pretty good setup for 400-600???

If you're looking for the used way out. Check ebay for Elkas. You can find a decent set for 3-500 and send them to Elka to be revalved good as new!

As far as a-arms go. Any a-arm brand that has a lifetime warrenty is a good thing.

If you could get them to replace it....and good luck with that.

The i-shock kit you priced out. Was that the LT or the STD travel?

I know the STD travel is well below 20%.   (especially from V2)

I read maybe half his post..and  already I knew a Socal susp. reply was coming. Good thing you're not an accountant!  Buy It! Buy it!

The only thing holding me back is the amount of time I get to ride vs. cost. Otherwise, i would get the Rolldesign+3 L.T./motowoz or elka package I saw the other day...2400 smackers!

And Krandall and I both have the RPM dominator 2 axle.  We both are more then happy with it.

yep, I agree with the "just dive in" post. Just waiting for the red guy to get the little white angel to shut the f'  up!

since you ride flat and little jumping you would probably want more of an XC setup than MX, but with the +2 or +3 length instead of +.5
