Just like the title says. I was coming to work today and i came up to a stop light and the motor just died. So i fired it back up and got in to the parking lot and it did it again. So i pulled in to a spot and got out and it was knocking. I shut it off checked the oil and it was about 1qt low. Not to bad. Well i added a quart and fired it back up. No noise. So i went to shut it off and the damn thing started knocking again. I think i might have a spun rod bearing. Not sure yet. But i would like to do a motor swap. Maybe a b16a or a b18. If anyone knows someone with a motor for sale or where i could pick one up please let know.

Thanks again guys!

why do you think the knocking is would have anything to do with a bearing.  My first check would be for a clogged fuel injector.  Desieling, or knocking is usually do to a carbon build up of some kind I thought  ???

I know in our old 85 ford f250 it has a terrible knock due to a crank bearing going out. But, it's been like that for the past 3 years...

Its pretty unherd of for a Honda to through out ta crank bearying with that new of modle year. Unless it has 200,000+ miles and no oil.

Well what i think did it is it being 1qt low on oil and me down shifting for 5 to second to pass a car. But it sounds like it is coming from the lower end and there is alot of pressure coming out of the valve cover threw the oil fill. I think it might also have a cracked piston. And it is pushing air in to the crank case and back up threw the head. When i down shifted it the piston might have came up and hit the head causing it to crack. I have worked at the dealer ship for almost 3 years. Im gona tow it home tomorrow after noon and pull the oil pan off and see if i can see anything going on with the crank bearings. If not i might just pull the motor and do a swap from a d16 to either a b16a or a b18. Not sure yet. It all depends on the cash flow. It looks like a quad might be out of the question untill i get this car back on the road. Luckly i have a 1992 blazer with 92k on it. All i have to do is replace the EGR valve and a blake line and im good to go.

Just put a b18 If you swap a B. It's the cheaper way to get some more torque... Or turbo it, but it's more $$$$... but it's REALLY fun  :grin_nod:

Ok, that make smore sense.      Your first post seemed as if it was just a normal Knocking situation.  ::)
