Warren asked for it, and got the dune obsession started for the day. So here we go. From pics, I think the sand at LS is much more fine than silver Lake.
LS is an active dune field constantly being moved and shaped by the wind.

vids first.

my very first day, first attempt at climbing a dune and jumping it. I though I was bad as hell!

later in the day. I was all pumped up after this one. .... :grin_nod:

then the last day, this guy on his built 450r, camped next to us and went out riding in our group and made us look like wussies. :help:

here are some pics that capture the coolness of the place. 1500 acres?

Every time we go out there we get a croud around us watching us jump, but this year it didnt turn out to well. This is the pic that a  buddy dislocated his sholder and spent 8 hours in the ER.

Just a little 81hp trail bike.

Little Sahara, OK is pretty cool. Gotta watch for rattlesnakes near the boundry areas and at night on the sand!

Preddy, are your pics from the other Little Sahara out west?

and giant frogs. We turned off our lights and took a break, turned them back on to take off, there was a 2ft tall bullfrog right in front of me. Wouldn't move. It was kinda eerie. Never did hear any rattlesnakes, though. I would have peed my pants. I know from experience. I remember hearing them out Nevada once when I was kid. Creepy.

Some rattlesnakes here won't rattle.

They will just bite you first. Pigmy rattle snakes will do the same thing.

I've seen a 6.5 foot timber rattler that wasn't rattling, and was coiled less than 5 feet from me. That was two years ago, and I haven't been right since.
