Yeah, My folks make one trip out to see me and Cole every two years, but we're expected to come home and visit 3 times a year 

Thats the way my parents are like right now.  They just expect us to go up there all the time when it costs us at least 200 bucks every trip, yet they can't come down when they are retired, have more money then GERD and have a plan to get here quick in.  I'll give them a 2-3 year test run and if they don't start changing i'll be calling my old boss.

It just sucks, because I love it out there and we have friends that are like family to us, and I miss the area (mountains, beach, desert and the central coast wine country).  And I feel the same about it here.  Wish I could find a way to have it all.   

I miss the smell of the air when you drive over the hills towards the ocean. And driving down highway 1.
All the family I have left out there is way southern cal. A bunch around Pismo, San Luis Obispo. And some out in the high desert near Riverside.

I looked into moving back last year. I could make 90,000 a year servicing printing presses, but needed to hit 150 to afford a decent house. Found a trailer in Oceana with view of the beach, it was a shitty trailer, too. 450k.

No, I need to be near water with the whole sailing thing.  And my sister has two girls and they live about an hour away from my parents.  They still expect my sister to do the driving.  Oh well, things better change because I wont put up with being homesick and having them expecting us to do all the work.
