i agree with the fact that the old rappy hood was distinctive and an icon. i like the fact that the new hood looks pretty sharp and is different. i do not like the fact that that is all the yamaha engineers could do for a new 2013 model.  its a pretty lame ass excuse if you ask me, i do hope that next year is a totally different rappy with maybe a new engine and chassis.  Lets rephrase this a bit and say "i wish the new rappy hood was an option", kind of like the gytr stuff.

I am new here and reading this post with all the hoopla about the grill.  I just bought a 2013 base model and don't see anything wrong with the grill.  Of course this is my first Raptor and only got to look at the back end of the older ones so I have no clue what they looked like ??  Love the machine so far..
