This is supposed to raise average energy costs $.50 per day or as much as $35.00 per person/year. Unless you have a R  at the end of your title, then it is $3500 per year.......No need to get things confused with decimal points and such.

I think where the problem comes in is naming the whole phenomena "global warming" which is way to literal for idiots. If they had named it "craziest weather we've seen in years", everyone would be in full agreement.

Does anyone remember the crazy weather patterns attributed to El Niño and La Niña? Nobody ever argued that because it wasn't used as a political platform. All of these extreme pundits on both sides care nothing about what is good for the people in the middle.

Something is happening, and I am no environmentalist by any stretch. There are too many kids with asthma and other health problems, but what blows my mind is even a dog doesn't shit where he eats. So why not clean it up?

Here are the differences in the parties as I see them.

Both parties want big government. One wants to have government control over money matters and distribution and the other wants to make sure you only have sex in the missionary position with the lights off, and you carry your government approved bible.

Democrats take from the middle class to give to the poor, and Republicans take from the middle class to give to the rich.

What we need is a bunch of people that do their job! And when you see a program isn't working, CHANGE IT!

I truly don't see it being that cut and dry.  Plenty of scum bags on both sides of the isle lining their pockets.

Democrats want everyone equal, no one exceptional.....so much for the American dream. :(  Not everyone can be wealthy, not everyone can have their dream job, and not everyone should have to pay extra because others failed. But if you truly excel, you should have a chance to be exceptional.

Republicans are not any better, they want the government small, happy townships living in fear ala 1950's.  Bible thumping, while singing Gene Autrey.  Making sure to judge everyone who doesn't believe as they do. (I must of missed the part in the bible where GERD says go forth and judge people on my behalf, then condemn them ??? )  All the while republicans are stil practicng trickle down economics that didn't work 30 years ago and still doesn't now (Shocking I know).

That being said, we are very spoiled.

Most of us will strife through mediocrity forever, and should be very happy for it, although we will never be content.

It's a harsh reality.....but I tell you there is no, zero, nada, nil poor people in this country, I've seen poor, and Americans have no idea.  In the US there is always a helping hand even if you have no one else to blame but your own damn stupidity.   Go to Africa and see if that holds true.

As for pollution.....duh...It's was said best in the movie the Matrix.."Human's are a virus" ???   Sure are.  We cannot keep expanding our population without impacts onto the planet.  Regardless of how "Green" we are, or appetite will eventual draw more than we can create until we curb our own infestation.

Soilent Green Mutha F@ckers!!!

psssstttttt...hey Aaron. Our views are disturbingly similar... scary.

But really, I agree almost 100% with your entire post.

Most of us will strife through mediocrity forever, and should be very happy for it, although we will never be content.

Well said my brother. Correct, if you excel you should...excel. But we are spoiled thinking the world owes us something, and many don't work for it. Struggle with that all the time with some of my employees.

the problem with the current environmental/energy issues facing this planet is that we are trying only to cure a symptom (global warming) not the disease (us).

Hefe

most of what you say is true Aaron, but remember.. there are still good ol' fashion atheist republicans out there who don't judge people for what they believe
guys like me who are republican because it makes more sense to encourage people to be better
rather than reward them for being lazy

Colorado700R

I don't necessarily believe it's even some being lazy (some are), but more likely circumstances were not in their favor, or perhaps they didn't take chances when they should have.

Either way, power corrupts.  Democrat, Republican doesn't matter.  Greed conquers all.

Hefe

almost DAILY, our circumstances are not in our favor
for all of us..

E looses his job
Gunny breaks his arm
peels gets ass raped by Preddy..

it is how we respond to those circumstances that determines who we are!

and yes.. power corrupts! bigtime

I fail to see this as being "not in our favor"  a$$hole.

But really..... Hard to separate the folks dealing with unfortunate circumstances, and those who aren't doing sqaut.

try not to use such a big brush..
I said I am a "republican because it makes more sense to encourage people to be better
rather than reward them for being lazy "

it seems the dems prefer to punish one for doing well
ie: the top wage earners may the most taxes BY FAR!

That statement is so correct AND incorrect that I don't even know where to start....... Rich people pay a higher percentage of their AGI (adjusted gross income), but their adjusted gross income is a smaller percentage of their actual gross income than for the middle class. The 90's (under the Clinton pig) saw the longest period of economic growth in American history. The tax rates are slowly moving back up to the same rate........ It doesn't matter to me either way, I'll just keep pluggin' along.

The way I see it, there are always people talking about how you handle being the victim of poor circumstances being what sets you apart, but I don't see that as the only measure of character in a civilized world. It can also be judged by how those of us who aren't victims help those who are.
