I have full GYTR skids on my 07 700R and they work great, i go trail riding all the time so skid plates were a good idea, they hav'nt failed me so far its been over a year now since i got them

Great skid plate. I have one on mine, i lost the bolt all the way in the front though and this was the out come of riding a day w/o that bolt.

I carry a roll of electricians tape in the slot under the seat where the owner's manual was. The stuff works well - almost as well as duct tape - for quick fixes on the trail and is perfect for preventing things like you've got pictured. You might throw a roll under your seat as well.
