Title: PC In The Cloud Data Backup FREEEEEEEE
Post by: Krandall on April 21, 2013, 08:52:33 AM
Hey..

So this is random as shit.. BUT.... This is one of those SUPER sweet deals. It works for 1 pc, one year, and unlimited data...

https://www.crashplan.com/carboniteswitcher/

It says to use your carbonite email account but really ANY email works. I just tried it and am currently backing up my music/photo's to the cloud! :)

It's good for 1 year and then after that, it's I believe 60 a y ear.

On my computer I've got 2 backups of all important data in case of hard drive failure. But the thing I worry about is.. if there was a fire... I'd lose everything. This is where cloud based storage is my friend. :)

not much important stuff is being stored internal for us now.

Old kid pics on cd's. also on a few giant usb drives I have. But 90% of them exist on teh webz in some way. as well as printed photos too.

It's crazy the age we are living in....honestly.  8) alot changing.

Put those internal drives into an external enclosure and throw them in the fire proof safe after backup/sync....problem solved.

My life isn't that eventful that I have new personal data four times a week, maybe after a vacation, special occasion, or every few months I have an actual reason to create a new backup.  Then again, I'm not imaging I'm just backing up personal data.

I don't do full, I do incremental so I'm not rewriting data. If I waited every couple months though, there's a possibility to lose a lot of data. Just easier. It's all automated so I don't even have to think/worry about it.
