i have seen quite a few pics of people standing thier quad up on a trailer to get more on. i stand mine up to clean or work on it, but i feel a little uneasy transporting it for a few hours, i dont want the gas to run into the oil. is this really a concern, or am i over complicating things? reason i ask is cuz we want to see what we can get on a 20ft to go to the mountains :grin_nod:
hmm. i dont see how the gas could run into the oil ??? just drain your float, turn off the gas and i think youd be ok. and make sure that your gas cap vent tube is secure and upright. 8)
oh? there is a fuel shutoff? i dont remember seein one when i put on my pc3, gonna have to consult the manual ???
oh wait. you bastards have FI, nvm.
looked through the service manual, didnt find a shutoff ???
FI dont have them..
ignore my first post.. only applies to carbeurated atv's.
i was told the same thing when i bought my raptor, if you leave it standing up for a long period of time gas will leak into the oil and filters and supposedly can cause a lot of damage on the fuel injected 4 strokes.
i cant believe i am the only person who is interested in this. you could potentially put 2 quads in the back of a truck.
i saw a guy do it today with a banshee and trx450r... the banshee had both right side tires destroyed, rim and tire off front and tire blown apart in rear lol..... doesnt look like a good idea, but it has been done
unfortunately those are both carbed models, im worried about my fuelly ???
i saw an article in QUAD MAGAZINE where they put two quads in the back of there truck, and the one standing up was an LTR450, its EFI and they didnt have a prob with it so... ???

i know that, im just saying it didnt even look SAFE, not just fluids mixing and such, it looked like it was gonna fall over if they made a sudden brake or something

I know it old, but few replied. I stand up my 700 and roll the outlaw or kfx up behind in the bed of my pickup. Both of these ride in this truck. Sorry best example I got. Each trip is a 2-6 hour round.

as long as you don't have a full tank of fuel you should be fine. i have found that with a full tank the gas tends to run out the vent tubes.
my truck broke and im rebuildin the engine, so i havent been able to try this out yet, but thanks for the input everyone.
