Ready for the 2009 season. My build consisted of: Racers Edge CNC ported head, Racers edge CP 12.1 piston, Megacam X4, Black Diamond +2 valves intake and exhaust, Kibble White valve springs, a custom curve from DL700 for the ignition, a Vapor computer, Pro Armor nerf bars with fat pegs and lastly HIDs in the stock location.
Check out my signature, what do you think I will make on the dyno?
Nice
is that a Harbor freight motorcycle hoist and harbor freight ramps too?
how did you hook them?
I have that hoist and those ramps, and I was thinking of doing that also..
can I get some close up pics plz?
oh.... yea...
Nice build!
I wiould bet you'll be in the upper 50s low 60's
love the HID's
<edit: I thought I read 14:1 compression>
I welded reciever hitch size square stock to the table and the smaller receiver stock to the ramps. If you look close you can see where the welds burnt the paint.
They are from Harbor Freight. They had ATV extentions for the table but they wanted $299 for them, the ramps cost me $54.
I love the table!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes working on the bikes and quads actually enjoyable.
Nice Build!!
are you sure you have +2 on both exhaust and intake valves, X-4 cam on a stock bore/stroke ?
this is too much valving for a stock bore, and in my opinion, it will cost you hp/tq numbers.
I'd say high 50's - low low 60's
maybe others will chime in
That's correct stock bore, stroke, +2s and an X4. We will just have to see how it works. If it doesn't perform I will just throw some more money at it.
Seat of the pants tuning in my pasture says it's working great!

sweet..
that is the exact way I was thinking of doing it
glad to know someone tested it and it works good..
anything you would change?
Wouldn't change a thing. The ramps look like they are sagging but their not. Optical illusion from the camera?
That sounds bad a**, Nice work!
Nice. It should make mid 60s. Lets go break them in.

I was already at 56 hp, I hope this last $1400 bucks get me close to 70hp or beyond!
Going on KBRs dyno Friday morning.........I guess we will find out
Good luck... keep us posted
Looking forward to seeing the graphs man!
It's Friday where I live.... Where's the graphs.... :P

+1
It's at KBR.. Having them install a slingshot lockup while it is there. Kam said that he may play around with some other components to see what he can get out of it. As of right now it won't be coming home till next week sometime.
Maybe if the KBR guys see this post they can up load the the dyno charts when they get them.

Results are in, a little disappointing. 61 hp and max torque of 45.75 . I talked with John at Racers Edge, he thinks there is more potential in the engine. I did have excessive clearances in the piston to head and piston to valves. Plus the piston was sitting in the whole at well over .60. He thinks that we need to tighten up the clearance and take another look at the +2 valves.
He wants me to drag it down to his shop so he can play with it. 14-15 hr drive one way for me. I will probably do it in the next couple of weeks.
So here it is, I spent $1400 on these last mods that works out to $233.33 bucks a HP. I was at 55 HP and now at 61HP
I don't know much about the RE CNC. But it seems like It's failing on 2 parts. One the piston to head clearance is one.. Tightening that up should pump up your compression a bit. But. I know his mid. And possibly the piston itself. You'll have to be mixing 50/50 with that. Might as well run straight race and bump up to a 14:1 piston. that alone should push you up rather well.
Be interesting to see that same build w/ +1 valves and same RE CNC'd head vs the +2's.
My altitude I should get by with pump gas. ^ 4500' is where I ride. That is why I chose the piston. I am running 100 octane pump gas in it right now at $6.44 a gallon. I will drop it down the 91 after a couple tanks.
