ok so i was wondering if it is illegal to remove the warning signs on the plastics of my 4 wheeler,
i couldnt imagine it being illegal but want to make sure. also i was wondering the best way to get rid of them without messing up the plastic.
i figured i could drill the rivet heads like you normally would but then im gonna have holes in it where the rivets were.
help me out please with your ideas or pics or whatever you got!
thanks
Yes it's legal.
It's only illegal if you remove your matress tag.

ya they even put sheep in jail for that!
is it easy to take them off?
its easy to remove them, but becareful when drilling the rivits. cause they get very hot and will melt the plastic. The new aftermarket labels come with new rivits and washers. plus they look awesome

The warning labels on the fenders....."Must be over 16 years of age to operate"

When you take off the old ones drill the front out and have someone hold the back of the rivet with pliers so it does not spin and it creates less heat  Go to EBAY and type in warning labels for what bike you have and there are replacements there in chrome and assorted colors and such
I just drilled mine out. Hold the backside of the rivet with some pliers. You can get some sick looking aftermarket ones. I have some aftermarket ones on my 700, and none on my 350. Ill take pictures of both tommorow
oh cool, hell ya thanks! i was just going for a cleaner look but id like to see the pics of your aftermarket labels whenever you get a chance!
thanks for the help, i was just worried that at some trails or state parks they might give you hell about removing them, now i have something to do tonight!

warning signs only required for manufacture for idiot liability prevention. but...still they sue Manufacturers. stupid.

damn, ur pictures got deleted before i could see em! the link worked, those are pretty awesome! i removed the labels last night in less than 10 minutes i think im jsut gonna leave it blank for a clean look.
i was thinking about trying to fill in the holes even though there small but i think it would be a waste of time! plus i couldnt think of what to fill them with besides maybe super glue or somethiing like that.
Pictures reposted
I just put stainless screws with lock nuts in the holes. Just another option.
I have seen Rivets put through the holes just to fill them in, it looks pretty cool too!

Most good hardware stores will have an assortment of chrome buttons that "snap in place" right into the holes left when you removed the original labels....This would give you a clean look, but fill the empty holes.....Several friends have done this with their plastics. :grin_nod:

ya i like the skull and tribal but i think um gonna go the cheapest way out and just fill the holes! sandaddy do you have anymore info on the "buttons" you were talking about?

They come in different sizes to fit different hole sizes....They are flat topped, chrome plated and have slotted spring back pieces on back that snap fits into holes. I`ve got one in my hand.....I`ll try to get my son to take a picture and post it up. I got these at Ace Hardware in So. Oregon, but I`m sure they`d be in most good selection hardware stores.
I have this one a friend gave me to size to the hole in plastic, if I went that way. I ended up going with carbon fiber ones for about $70.00 and I really like the look. I`ll try to post pic up in next day or two.

Damn, i was thinking maybe 5 dollars! i do like carbon fiber but thats a lot of money!
