Post by: fireman5166 on September 05, 2008, 10:49:49 AM

I don't think that's the "TRUE" programmable version.

It doesn't say anything about making custom curves for it. The thing that has me thinking is it only says this: "Four programmable timing curves"

Which to me is saying... YES, you can program it to use one of 4. but NO, you can't create custom ones.

I called and they just said, sorry that is the not the right one.  I guess I need to call back and push the issue but they do have the non-programmable part # up.

Would you be honest about it and just pay $239 for one on ebay, or stick it to them?  Do any site sponsors have a good price on them?
Title: Re: is this a good deal on dyna ignition
Post by: fireman5166 on September 18, 2008, 11:13:39 AM
well I would stick it to them for being lazy and not fixing it. it has been 2 weeks so that is there bad. they are aware of the problem.

Fireman- Did you ever get this and is it the right one?  I just ordered mine for 209.95 and asked her to read me the description and she said it was programmable with 4 curves.  It sounds like the right one but I just want to make sure.  I ordered Chapparel part #2101-0158.

Thanks

Anybody else feel free to chime in here

Sweeeeeeet

They didn't give me a hard time at all.  I gave her that part # and she said "ok your total is 209.95".  So, then I started getting nervous that it wasn't the one I wanted.

Thanks

is the programable version really worth it?  from what i understand playing with ignition timings is pretty trick even with a dyno, and hard to produce positive results.

I ordered one last week along with a pair of gloves. They shipped the gloves and said the ignition was backordered. I called them yesterday and they said that they were going to get some in at the end of next week. cool, I made it! WRONG!! They called this morning and said that the mfg. had made a mistake in the description and that was not the programmable unit. She said the programmable one was $349. I pissed and moaned, but couldn't get her to honor the 209 price. You win some, you lose some.

They are not honoring the website misprint.  They sent me the non-prog one and I called and raised hell and they just sent me a call tag and said.  Sorry bout your luck.

Yeah my brother and I have always had $hitty transactions with them and thought this was my chance to get a little back from em.  Not to be.  They have a typo/misprint statement in the back of their catalog and they hid behind that.

Hey DL I haven't looked at my IGN since I installed it. I can't remember but if I wanted to send it to you for a new curve would I have to pull all the wiring or does it all disconnect at the box? Im not around it right now to look at it.

You won't be disapointed.....I'm running a RF custom curve on my Dynatek and I am very happy with it

This is not to take anything away from DL as I'm sure with all the dyno time he has logged playing with custom advance curves he does a fine job as well......I just wanted to state I was more than satisfied with the curve Jason at RF did for me  8)

They called me Thursday and told me that they was not going to honor their screw up but if i wanted them to charge me full price they would be more than happy send me one. I told them they had that price posted for me than three weeks and had more then plenty of time to remove the ad and replace with the correct one. They said it did not matter how long they knew about it and was not going to honor that price no matter how much business they lost. Piss on them!
