Its kind of a weird state to have the Republican convention anyway. Minnesota is one of the most Liberal states in the Midwest. It kind of sucks for the rest of the state because 90% of the Laws for the entire state come from the Twin Cities.

Makes me think of that system of a down song. Name escapes me. "Battalions of riot police with Rubber bullet kisses, baton courtesy, service with a smile"

I love politics. Ironicallly. Many of the weirdo hippies demonstrating will not actually vote.   Instead choosing to smoke pot and watch anime cartoons.

well, the hippies started early this morning.

There's a macy's just around the corner from our building.... all the windows were broke. 7 people arrested.

Yesterday I found out to try stopping traffic coming IN to St. Paul. Nearly all the entrance ramps into St. Paul were littered with Nails.

Wear an Obama shirt up in that bitch.

I wonder if McCain is kicking himself in the ass yet for asking Palin to be his running mate yet?

Palin has retained a private attorney to represent her in an investigation into the firing of the state public safety commissioner,
and now the media is rocking the boat over her daughter's pregnancy. I think families should be left out of politics, but the media is out to crucify her.

In my opinion, I don't think McCain made the right choice. I think there were at least two others that were more qualified for the position, that had a much better chance of helping him get elected than Palin.  If he can't make the right choice on a running mate, he won't make the right choices as President.

I agree with you w/ the families being left out. But.. The media looks for ANYTHING to extort the person. Teenage daughter being pregnant is good dirt. McCain made the wrong choice IMO.... I don't know when they do the next big poll, but I'd like to see how many points up or down mccain is since the choice of Palin

Obama's lead is shrinking now.  And before the DNC they were trading back and forth.

For me I'm starting to like her.  It could be a big plus for him.  It brings in a fresh face that people want and the thing with her daughter makes her more "real".  They go through the same problems as the rest of us Americans.  McCain knew about this before he picked her, so it was no shock to him.

A fresh face? Sure, but she's being investigated for firing of the state public safety commissioner! Not good for someone that has chosen her to be a possible Vice President.

What if McCain passes? Would you trust a 44 year old that has less experience than a mayor of a large city?

I wouldn't.

She's the governor of a state that has 627,000 people. The Mayors of Dallas, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, San Fransico, etc. would be more qualified to be the president than she would be.

I don't buy into the argument for her experience, she has just as many issues to face as large population states.  That is a crack up if people really think that the Mayor of LA has more responsibility then she does.  If I looked at things that way I would be doing the same with Obama, but I feel he has the experience to run the country.....I just can't figure out what change he's talking about, and what I do know I am against.

And look into that investigation, its a standard investigation....and I feel she was in the right.  She just pissed off the dude, but she doesn't put up with crap.  Can she run the country is McCain passes...I don't know.  There isn't enough information out there for any of us to have that opinion.

Luckily the population in NOLA has dwindled to the 360,000 mark. That's still too many for him to handle.

thats actually not so uncommon. i think it makes her seem more like a real person. than someone that has a perfect lifestyle. i would rather know about a persons flaws than to think they are perfect when im voting for them. and its not her fault the daughter got out and got herself pregnant

Well said. Although it is not her fault per se, if she had whipped her ass more as a child and actually tought her values, then she would not have to worry about her teenage daughter getting pregnant because 1 she wouldnt have sex, or 2 she would be educated enough to know about protection and how to use it. Parents need to be parents not friends to there children! The world would be a far better place.

Agreed, somewhat.  90 percent of the blame will be on some douche bag kid that makes her feel better, after being whipped so much when she was younger. He will "comfort her"

But..the part in bold... +1  and don't just hand them stuff. then they expect the rest of the world to continue handing them stuff.

My parents did everything right to teach me what to do and I still went out and did what I want.  I took more then my share of ass whippings, but some kids just need to learn the hard way.  I have a strong feeling that Palin is a great mother.....the daughter could just be like I was.

True, but a 17 year old kid that gets pregnant is messed up.

thats actually not so uncommon. i think it makes her seem more like a real person. than someone that has a perfect lifestyle. i would rather know about a persons flaws than to think they are perfect when im voting for them. and its not her fault the daughter got out and got herself pregnant

Well said. Although it is not her fault per se, if she had whipped her ass more as a child and actually tought her values, then she would not have to worry about her teenage daughter getting pregnant because 1 she wouldnt have sex, or 2 she would be educated enough to know about protection and how to use it. I just hear RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE showed up in St. Paul yesterday!

After they were told they couldn't play, the crowd started chanting "Free Speech", and when the crowd was being told to leave, they started chanting "F*ck you we won't do what you tell me!"

I just heard this on Sirius #20.....Can you confirm this Randy?

If they let rage play that town would get burnt down.  I'm a huge rage fan but smart move by the cops.  Zach can really get things going and it would of gotten way out of hand.  I was at the dnc for the rage concert and that was off the charts crazy.

Aren't there any democrats on this forum to defend themselves...i don't understand why you guys are calling these people "hippies".  is just because they are having a demonstration and voicing their opinion against republicans? I used to be a republican supporter but after they sent me to Iraq two times I think I'm done.  I've been in the Army for 4years and spent 2 and half of that in Iraq.  Do you have any idea how hard that is on a family?  Plus let's mention that every year when congress proposed the budget G.W. Bush declined it every time and wanted less pay increase for the military that he put in a stupid ass war.  I've see Baghdad more than my own home in the past four years and I KNOW that we have completely wasted billions of dollars and this country will never worth anything! And I understand I volunteered and I will finish my contract and get out of the Army and move on.  Anyways I figured someone needed to defend these people.  So all I'm trying to say is maybe they have a reason for being there and maybe they have something to say they feel is important.  Maybe they lost a son of husband or dad in the war.  The whole point of this is I don't think we should be talking smack about people that are just exercising their rights which is the whole reason why we love this country because we have to right to do things like this.

I mean it in no degragatory manor. You can ask the member "phaty" I call everyone freakin hippies.

I'm not dem or rep... I'm for whoever can make the best decsions in running this great country that I am MORE than blessed and happy to be a part of. And there are a few democrats on here.  But I think you will find more republicans on an atv forum due to the fact that it has been the democrats closing down our riding areas.  Plus most people on an atv forum our outdoor enthusiast (fishing, hunting, atv's, ect.) and the democratic party is anti gun and anti hunting and fishing for the most part.

We are only making fun of the weirdos with weird hair and stupid slogans. Has nothing to do with party. FOr me at least.
It does seem that most of the weirdos tend to be dems...which embarrasses me a little.
I would consider myself a democrat if I had to choose a party. THough i never decide on a candidate til November.

We are not intending to make fun of those who have actual objections to the war etc. It is the goofballs that picket and demonstrate just to be part of something.  ;) Sorry.  It's Krandalls fault. :grin_nod: j/k

But still a good call by the cops up there.  If they played you wouldn't have a city left.

+1 Was that cost for the city, or revenue brought in? ??? If that is what it cost the city, I would tell them to get lost next election!
