I have a jenson in dash dvd player and want to watch movies when i drive. I thought i had to hooked up right but i guess not. I hooked it to the parking brake sensor and it played movies when i drove, till one day it told me to apply the P brake. Well i looked in the book that came with the unit and i tried all that it has to offer and nothing wont play. The unit goes in my 04 dodge dakota. Wtf am i doing wrong? And i am sure i forgot to tell you something because i am pissed right now so ask any questions.
Im not any help but my brothers cd/dvd player does the same thing but has always done it. I'll ask him if he knows a way to stop it.

Any little bit will help thanks!
np if you can wait till tomorrow i should see him and ill ask then.
I just spent an hour or more in the garage thinkin of a way to get it to play because i cant get it to play at all. But came up with nothin so i have to wait till tomorrow. I cant stand some thing that dont work to my liking. Thanks for the reply.
Take the Parking brake wire and hook it to the Ground.. It will always think the parking break is on  Thats the way my Eclipse In Dash is hooked up :grin_nod:
watcing porn and driving one handed is dangerous
Just go to autozone and get a switch. Attach the p-brake wire from the dvd player to one end and ground the other with anoter piece of wire. The dvd player thinks the switch is the p-brake so you can just turn the switch on and off instead of using the p-brake.

That is how mine is and it works perfect Read your manual see if there is a sequence you have to do Mine when I start a DVD I have switch on then shut it off for 5 seconds and turn on again and it works fine

This is true. I have to turn mine on-off-on for it to work.
when we did the one in our truck we had it all hooked up and on a switch that you have to turn on, off, then on again so it works, just something to think about b4 you get frustrated haha
for a trick setup, you can get a relay box on the net that does everything for you, its about 30$ i think. i tried to build one once but it was just too fast for my alpine. so i spent 30$
you have to get this little box that fakes the park neutral safety swithch input.....cuz it's illegal for them to work when driving if in the driver's view
Or u can ground the Parking brake wire... Done it to mine and a Few others I have put in
depends on the brand.....that won't work on a high end alpine unit....i tried it on my buddy's.....he's got the one with the detachable screen

Works Fine on Eclipse, JVC and Jensen.. The ones I put in...
on ebay, just search your jansen deck, and i garantee it will come up
Thanks for all the replys guys in going to try the adding a switch between the parking brake and grounding it to the truck. I hate doing the sequence. But I don't mind if I can just get the damn thing to work. Funny thing is i wanna play some of my vids of Wheelin videos I made.
