Well, last week I received a beautiful pair of like brand new '06 yfz front shock.
At first glance, they seemed better, WAY better than stocky pogo from my '06 Raptor. I just installed these and flipped the rear link.
It don't feel tippy as it was before, I actually can drift on pavement ! Sure, the bearclaw (spare tire before I get GNCC ) help a lot on this part. The ride experience is like if I had a new ATV... literally, it's that different for those who wonder how different it is.
Well now, I want a-arms and axle.... Dammit.

YFZ shocks need modification to be used on a 660 Raptor

Yeah, they fit bolt-on. it's pretty simple, the worst part is the rear flipped link.

Lowers the rear end by about 1.5-2 inches

gotcha
But what does flipping the rear link do to your suspension travel?
Well, i've notice no change in suspension travel. The only thing that is different, is the lower center of gravity, which, in my case, is more than noticeable.
I think its a little easier to bottom out. Anyone agree with me?
I did notice that when I rode behind you. But what I'm talking about is when jumping are the landings any different?

I gave my spring several turns & the rear shock is still soft IMO. Its a comfy ride until you add speed. I think my quad bottoms out more easily but with my fat ass that makes sense. I'm thinking the rear spring is either way out of adjustment or the spring is fatigued. If I crank down my spring too much it may bind, again IMO
Yea I think its time for you to go on a diet or buy some new shock. :grin_nod:
I'm sorry I'm driving through a tunnel, your breaking up, what what what click
 NICE

They not only caught up but they passed you turned around and then jumped your ass :P
Polaris525, I will remember this when your bald & fat, your day is coming buddy 8)
Not in the next two years, I don't think I'll be where you're at. Might be right on the bald part though takes a lot of hair to cover a head this big ;)
Just wait till you get a job where you have to do something, you'll actually be tired at the end of the day & have no time for exercise, just McDonald's
You have off the same amount of days a year as you work. I work 5-6 days a week and run 10 miles a week+drink like a fish.

With a 12 hour shift I can work 180 days & have 180 days off. The kicker is 90 of those days I'm working nights
And I work every other weekend

You could be bending glass in Washington right now working in the field you went to school for, but I guess you wanted to stay miserable. Good riding areas and dunes could have been within 5 hours of you.

Any new thoughts on the shocks?
What did you do with the old shocks?
Any pics?
hey guys, do you usually change just your fronts when switching to YFZ shocks or the rear too? and is there a specific year for the 700 that is a direct bolt on?
Thanks again.
All YFZ fronts fit all Year 700's. The rears are different and do not fit
thanks for the clarification Colorado.
