Hi, I was wondering if anyone that have a CCP stabilizer went throught it like I did ? The adjustment is to the max and it's like if it was at setting 5, when I first installed it.

If I decrease the adjustment, it's like there's no stabilizer at all. I lifted the front on a stand, I kicked the wheel and the handlebars just BOOM the other side.

I just want to be sure there won't be any spring that fly throught the air if I open this wonderful little box  ;)

Anyone have rebuilt those ? If not, I think i'll be the first...  ???

If I recall....James from CCP said that he would rebuild any units that required it for $20.00...You might want to check with him before taking it apart......Just FYI

That is correct

Actually, what he stated is that he would rebuild any as required for the cost of shipping (~$20 round trip)

For 20$ i would not even consider opening up the unit, Send it back and get it checked out by the man!!!!

Yeah well, the problem is, it has only 2 ride on it... or about 8 hour... 20 $ is not much, but if I need to rebuilt it after each oil change, it would be more moneywise...

Knowing it could cost only a seal and a oil refill... it's enough for me. Yeah, I know I sound cheap, but I like to tear everything apart and rebuilt them myself. That way I learn how it works.  I'm always somewhat happy when something break on my bike... i'm the kind of guy who like to work on these thing as much as I like to ride them.

I was just wondering if any of you already had opened one. Thanks anyway.

By the way, it still work, it just seem to be less effective than before. If I decide to really open this up i'll make a write-up with photo.. It will be useful for some DIY-er

Not that I know of. some one should have his phone# and you could call him. He is a super nice guy and will do what he can for you. We have one of his units but only have about 25 hours on and so far it is great.

NO but I did unscrew it all the way and some "fluid" came out. This is the email that I got from CCP when I F'ed up. I am pretty sure all you have to do to rebuild it is put new fluid in it.

"its 80w-90 oil if you notice that there might be air in stabilizer to bleed air out hold stabilizer sideways with the adjuster knob up and work the pivot arm back and forth very short strokes and if you feel air in stabilizer just remove knob at the same angle and add a couple drops dont over fill just repeat till you feel no air might take a couple tries if theres a very small amount of air in stabilizer it will be fine"

I know it sounds bad, but everything I get I have to take apart to see how it works. I have dont this since I was little.

It does pay off when you DO YOUR OWN MOTOR WORK!!!!  :bird: :bird:

Not when you try to modify your raptor using toaster parts and installing your new cam in your microwave.
