Yes Raptors have rev limiters, and your just fine bouncing off it from time to time. You could be smelling some unburnt fuel or a little left over carbon deposits. I wouldnt worry about it.

Come to a raptor rally, it seems raptors bouncing off the rev limiter is a mating call arond those parts

You'd be supprised at the uses of a rev limiter.

alarm clock
dinner bell
getting ones attention
a display of who's balls are bigger
getting a drunk person out of bed

I insist it was oil not carbon and I most assuredly did not approach the rev limiter.

While I am familiar with burning off hydrocarbon buildup in my engine I am unfamiliar with the notion of "burnt carbon" being odiferous as it typically is expelled through the exhaust and thus has little interaction with my olfactory system.

It would appear as though I have fret without necessity.

My intentions are to displace the current petrochemical chains lubricating the internal combustion engine.  Need I be made aware of such information beyond the dictum that said lubricant is required to be compatible with the clutch system as it shares the same fluid serving the remainder of said internal combustion engine?

The most recently observed level of the a fore mentioned petrochemical chains was at an accepable but less than ideal point.  This slight variation from perfection arose my curiosity as to the role it may play in the prior assault on my nasal cavity.

I reside a day's carriage ride from the metropolis known as San Francisco.  Could you kindly point out to me the relative location of said "Raptor Rally" as I have interest in attending.

The Raptor has been denied the glory of frequent operation since I acquired it.  The previously discussed odor was also observed as I engaged the starter and fired the cylinder for the first time this very day.  However the aroma of engine lubricant subsided just a moment later.

I prefer my motorized vehicles to operate in an impeccable manner and I seek to resolve issues as they first arise rather than to let them fester and multiply under insufficient scrutiny.
