I'd like to go with something similar to the FCI w/ box set up. Use a stock air box, replace the lid with the outerwears lid then it should be good. Keeps the muck out

All of the color schemes on this page are interesting. All blacked out with a sharp AOT graphics kit to accent the atv OR the red frame on black and white with the AOT graphics kit to make it more attractive. Either way, im pretty sure it will end up as one of these because red frame is the color i've wanted since the start.

This is more like the 2011 SE with a graphics kit/ slate topper, slate nerfs ~

I thought this was very sharp ~

Kamakazi

since you mention AOT i have to show you the work they did for me

98% of north americans that hit the ditch say "oh shit", the other 2% are from saskatchewan and say "hold my beer and watch this"

Very nice Kami!

I won't show the proof Mike did for me until it gets color matched to the quad. Mike does awesome work though, I was amazed.

That is the best set of graphics I have ever seen on a quad. Ever!!! Man those are truly badass..... Kamakaze, why do you have the word kamikaze misspelled?

FYI, that was my handle over the road when I was a truck driver, I've had that name ever since I had my offroad club "4 gunz 4x4z" when I was a kid.

thanks gunny, i like the graphics as well, mike did do a very nice job putting the picture in my head onto vinyl.  as for the spelling of kamakazi, its just my twist on it, didnt really want to be associated with the pilots, just a nickname ive had since i was a teenager.

Alkrie, sorry for hijacking your thread, was not my intention

not at all bud, I got my answers, ill be adding pics as the build progresses later. those are some nice graphics though, thank you for sharing

Gonna transfer the build to Preddy08  see first page for updates!

Bought some LSR lightweight front wheel hubs as spares today from a guy on MR. They have a sealed bearing cap to keep the muck out. It was between those and Hardkor wheel hubs for the build, these were cheaper and looked better IMO. Need to get both the new set and the spare set anodized or PC'd when it all comes together.

Also, sent a message to TRF about rebuilding the motor with all my goodies. Waiting for a response to get things in motion.

Lots of other things starting to move on this build, hopefully some pictures start pouring in early September time frame.

Also, color scheme will most likely be Yamaha SEII Yellow, black frame with black AOT graphics and colored logos. Mike Dudas can make a kit to cover most of the atv's plastics now so ill try to cover as much of the large yellow areas as possible for a really neat look!

I'm really looking forward to doing a XC build. These duner bikes are for little sissy girls!

Whats up with your motor? I wouldnt mind doing it myself.
Just a little 81hp trail bike.

Heck yea, XC rules!

Beau from Team Rocket Factory just replied as is ok with what I was going for:

-KDS Stage 2 head with X-4 cam, refreshed and rebuilt
-105.5/105 14:1 piston (can't settle on the piston)
-SCE copper gasket with re-plated cylinder, cylinder and head grooved to create the "barrier" in the copper gasket to relieve head gasket issues. welded and re-drilled water ports
-Barker +6mm crank with Falicon rebuild (they can rebuild it, they have the technology....)
-new cases
-new bearings
-new tranny forks
-gigot clutch

this list goes on. You sure you want to tackle this? I wanted to make it easier on you than having to do all the engine work alone.

preddy08

I really think you'd be better off buying a OEM motor and taking the entire bottom end (minus the crank) and using it.

Have you priced out case half's and tranny gears? Of the top of my head i think its gonna be 2500+

I've seen stock motors sell for 1200 bucks, and you get to sell/keep the cylinder and head.

$518 for the crank case, I haven't looked at the transmission yet. The gear sets are ok, the forks looked like they were heat damaged or treated (Ebay purchase) so they will need to be replaced.

The one crank bearing $51.00, $60.00 balancer bearings, $300-$350 transmission bearings, $150 for new forks. The only reason im interested in piecing it together is the fact that all the components are new and undamaged factory parts vs a low hours motor that I don't know how its been treated.

If I can find a low hours part out with a decent bottom end ill jump on it, otherwise it will have to be piece by piece. Do you know any good bottom ends running around?

Krandall

all bottom ends on this site are well used and abused.
