How big of a grill are we going to need. I have a small portable and a decent size stand up. Mark me down for one or the other or both. Ill bring the LP for it the utensils for it and i'll run it if my ADD permits. I'll also have an ez up and some chairs for my own fat ass. HA! I'll probably drive my truck out onto the dunes and set up the ez up on or around the strip. I'll be camping for sure. Hopefully ill be there Thursday thru Sunday.

Has any one else booked for that weekend at any of the camp grounds or hotels? I just went to make reservations at the state park and it's booked. Theres a car show in heart that saturday the 30th. we may have a problem making reservations for the weekend. Havent really checked into any other campgrounds yet as iv only stayed at val du lakes once in the past other than the state park campground. I have seen val du is back again under new ownership.... again. But my pearents are going also so unless val du is going to be like it was, under the other name it was last year, then its out.

Langford

I think they normally book at the Sierra Sands Hotel for the Rallies, they give a discount if I remember correctly.

just don't mention raptor rally. Some guys were pretty loud last time and ruined it for everyone.
Krandall: "peelz. I'll be real with you. As much as I hate on you for soccer, I really don't mind it"

I checked around at some other camp grounds and theres plenty of avil at other places. I'm not sure why the state park is compleatly booked and nothing else is. I gotta camp kyle. The hotels are ok over there in late fall, but if its nice out im out by the fire cooking and or drinking a beer... ok a few beers, after the sun goes down.  Any one else camping?

Mad Dog

We have campfires at the Sierra sands as well, or at least they used to let us.

The majority will be at the hotel.  I will check with heft to see if we can still get the group rate but I'm not counting on it.  I plan to start booking in a couple of weeks.

I'd book sooner rather than later. The people i've talked to say that weekend fills up sooner rather than later because of that car show. But then again with gas prices i'm sure they'll use any angel to get you to book it. My parents are going with me and my girl and there bringing there 35 foot camper. Not exactly gonna be roughing it. My mom plans out every meal we go camping together. Its kinda nice and takes me back to being a kid. Now that i'm older and my parents have less and less time here on earth i actually like doing that kind of stuff with them again.... auh sorry having an emotional moment.

Mad Dog

Car show is out in hart, and the state park has a habit of being the first park to fill up.  Comfort Inn will fill up fast, but since they're the same price there's not much benefit staying out there anyway.

There will be no group rate this year at Sierra Sands, prices are $159/night Friday/Saturday nights and $125 for weeknights.  This is for rooms with 1 queen bed and 1 sofa (max 3 people) or a deluxe room (2 queen beds, 4 person max).  You can have more people in these rooms for an additional cost of $5 per person per night.  There are suites available for more $$$.  We usually end up with triple and quadruple occupancy.  There are a very limited number of fold away beds available for additional charge of 8 dollars per night.
