I'm going to get a sxs in the near future. I was wondering what you guys would go with, the RZRS or Can Am Commander?

If I had your money I would buy one of each. J/K  I do like that orange RZR though if you know what I mean. I saw one of those Can-Ams a couple weeks ago and it was sweet and fast. A guy that works for me has a RZR and its sweet as well. I want one of those 4 seater RZR. Hurry and get them before the Rally.

Buying new its hard to say since I've never actually seen a commander. The commander does look kind of big and heavy and I haven't been impressed with can-ams much. I have seen a bunch of low mileage RZR S's around that you could save yourself a few grand.

I would get the Rzr, the Commander is as big as the huge ass a Arctic Cat, it is fast but the rzr just feels really sporty. Also I bet the Commanders sale price will not be even near the MSRP price posted...

I've seen both in person. The Commander isn't noticeably different in size.

Commander L x W x H (in)  118.3 x 58.6 x 72 in

RZR       L x W x H (in)   106 in./60.5 in./70.5 in.

my dad loves the rzrs. hes had 2 of the standards and now has a rzrs 2 seater and a 4 seater. he go rid of his buggy for the 4 seater and loves it. they are 3mod but get around wynoka no prob. have to get a bit of a run and just the right slope to jump them nicely. the maxxis tires do great in the sand, but haulers and shaved fronts are noticeably better. havent got to drive the rzrs much but his first std with 4 dunestars and spacer/adapters no mods was a blast and almost unstopable at wynoka. they didnt have cool rims at the time so he got the adapters for rhino wheels. if you look hard enough you can get a nice std for 6000

If the RZR wasn't a POOlaris, it'd be a no-brainer.  But since it is a POOlaris, I lean towards the Cam-Am.

Wonder where all the extra weight comes from in the can am? I wonder if its just in accessories. Look at the wheels and they are quite a bit beefier than the polaris. plus a full steel bumper vs plastic. I'm a sucker for bombadier products. 85hp is a nice selling point as well as the bigger gas tank. The Can Am is fairly new so I'd assume AM products are still far and between where as the RZR has had some exposure so mods are plentiful.

The commander looks cooler...But the RZR S would have a bigger aftermarket availability I would think

I really like can-ams outside the box thinking on a lot of there recent products but the execution just sucks. Look at the DS450, it should be so much better than it is. Can-ams also do not get the aftermarket support that the other manufacturers get.

Thats one of my hang ups. I can add another 50hp to the rzr and go +5 the day I buy it. No telling when that'll happen for the Commander.

Saw the commander in person this weekend.....get the RZR S

if you are going to do any engine or suspension work get a std model. it will defeat the purpose of the money you spend on getting an s model

I doubt he'd widen it further than it already is, most of the aftermarket suspension kits are only a total of 2 inches wider than the Stock RZR-S in which case I would recommend the S model right off the bat.
