old phone books

Anybody else just never throw them away?  I'm moving a hutch and it's heavy so I open it up and there's 20 old phone books in there.  I stacked them up, 29.5 inches tall. 

Anybody curious how far certain bullets travel through paper?  Think I might shoot 'em up then recycle them.
