yeah geared lower and detuned engine, for low end. And a more upright stance. "R1 for old guys."   Seems as though FZ1 uses previous years r1 technology leftovers. It is a wheelie machine. But cheaper insurance, more comfortable, etc. New ones are FI, too.

Yamaha makes a 600 naked bike too, pretty sweet, the FZ6. I like the speed of the crotch rockets, but not the driving position, or all the body parts that that I would smash. :'(
