Anyone here do any rock climbing?

Getting back into it this summer and looking into my own gear (harness/shoes)

Anyone have any suggestions?

I've always wanted to get into that. We have a small wall at my school that only a few people can do and I did it. I've always wanted to try the real thng, but there's not much around here for that sorta thing

i got into it a bit a few years ago... the place around here was pretty good... i pretty much stuck with bouldering... never did get the harness... the bouldering was a good enough workout for me... i cant remember what shoes i bought but i didnt go for anything crazy...

i should go do it again... it was one hell of a full body work out

Did a bunch of gym climbing a couple years ago to help rehab my shoulder, and a bit of bouldering as well. Definately a good time. I have a pretty basic pair of La Sportivas I really like. I prefer the shoes that tie to the velcro personally

We have a local place called "Vertical Endeavors" and gonna get into it a bit more. It's tons of fun and a heck of a workout!

Get a good chalk bag, chalking up made a huge difference to me when I finally sprang for one.

I went here a couple monthes ago.  It was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There are some places to climb on the outside of the silos, they are crazy to drive by there on I-40 and see people on the side of this 90 ft silos.

I liked it but I am um heavy lol   so its hard

Just keep practicing pull-ups...I've seen guys lift themselves up even if they're 200-300 lbs. 400 though you might be pushing it...
