Krandall's Official Dune Report!!!!

We rolled out of Minnesota around 8:00PM Central Time. It was a long ass haul, as soon as we hit Chicago, it started raining, and rained non-stop until we got to Silver Lake. We arrived there around 8:30 whatever their time is. Met up with Mike (Mad Dog) and bs'd while the rain stopped. Rain stopped, Ryan(sand84) and his bud Kyle (Dick Foreman  ) showed up. We got the quads unloaded and we took off out into the dunes, there was VERY FEW people there. parking lot was maybe 1/4 full. got in a good few trips around, showed my bro the dunes (first timer) everyone was gettin hungry so we piled into Ryans' truck and went out and got some grub. As we were cruizing. Some how Sand84 got tied up and Kyle ran into the back of him. Sand was a bit pissed. Nailed the throttle and gave Kyle a NICE sand bath. We went cruizing down by the lake, mad dog was showin off the prarie water skills by goin through the puddles. In doing this, he also nearly lost the prarie to an exceptionally deep puddle. water up to the rack, while he was in 2WD    pretty funny to watch!

Around 1:00ish a sasquatch and fridge were spotted in Silver Lake! Got their bikes loaded up and went out riding. We did some tree shots. Mad Dog isn't as quick as he thinks :grin_nod: The Drag stips as well as by the lake were all flooded. dang rain. :(
We got some good riding in and decided to go for one last cruize around the dunes as we're flying, I hit a little whoop section. I hear my chain dragging a bit on the swing arm guard. I get off. Look and there's about 4" of slack.. wtf? ??? ??? ??? I told my bro to run back and grab my wrenches, I thought maybe the carrier loosened. He looks. "Hey, your swing arm isn't even centered..."  I look underneath. my nice +2 t-dub swinger busted on both sides nearly sheared all the way through. I thought preddy was just talkin crap about not riding his swinger hard when his busted. but seriously, I wasn't doin crap hardly and she snapped clear in 2.. :'(  I had my bro go ahead and find Mad Dog on the prarie to rescue me. about 5 mins later Mike showed up.. jaw dropped going "holy f*ck"

He ran back, grabbed the tow strap and we towed her back. that was it for my rappy for the weekend :(

We got all the quads loaded up, went back to the hotel, met up with Phil, and went out to dinner.

After dinner we went back to the hotel, BS'd for a bit, and then crashed.

Saturday. Woke up to nothing but rain. we cruized out to the dunes, set up our canopy's chilled for a bit waiting for the rain to die down. It slowed a bit, Mad Dog offered the prarie up to me for a while. Cruized the dunes for a bit w/ my bro while everyone else was getting the BBQ set up. I guess the guys from bluetraxx showed up. I'm kind of bummed I missed all you guys!!!! but, 12hr drive, wanted tio make sure my bro got the most out of the dunes!!!!
We came back in, socal was still man'in the grill, got a few cooked up for my bro and I.. Then Socal offered up his bike to me. It's hard to say no.
I went out w/ my bro, and Todd (Fridge_Meister). We cruized around looking for the others. SandDragon, Sand84, and havn2muchfun. We found them at one of the flooded strips oogling over Tim Barkers bike out there. He was givin free test drives. The thing was a beast to say the least.
I parked socals bike, ryan (sand84) offered his bike up to me... 734 on a stock swinger. Can you say wheelie machine? the thing was amazing, I can't wait to ride it w/ the +6 swinger on the back. Then I took Tim Barkers bike out. Wow is all I can say.. He got it put together the night before the rally, got a map for it. not custom tuned by any means. Low end was lacking, but once it got past around 3k rpms. the thing took off like a damed rocket!!! :grin_nod: :grin_nod: :grin_nod:  I parked his, SandDragon let me take out the punisher for a few runs. +8 swinger. Lets just say. I couldnt get the front end to come up but no more than 3" shes a hard runner for sure!!! We went back and loaded up the bikes and headed out for dinner. Went back tot he hotel. p[lenty of beer floating around. Watched the Ohio USC Game. GO USC!!!!!!    shot the shit for a bit. And everyone crashed.
We got up aroun  8:00 headed out for breakfast. We were out of there by 9:00 headed home. 8)

I know I missed some things. so feel free to add in what you guys experienced. I can't wait for next year. my bro vows he'll have a raptor. Lets just hope he's not another d jr.

I beat him the first, he got the holeshot the second.  I have the stronger engine but I also have the 12.5:1 piston and he has the 11:1 so that could be the reason.  I still think the sand stars hook up well, krandall was hooking up like crazy with his.  I might put mine back on for now since the haulers I had were bald.  Krandall's bro was racing mine against krandall and he couldn't get hook up to save his life, he could pass him down the track but he had nothing out of the hole...just wheel spin.

There wasn't anyone on a raptor that seemed to catch me out of the hole shot. I'd liked to have run against SandDragon, next year man.

Yeah, Socal put my bro on. about 50lbs lighter and he just reeled me in by just past mid track.

He's got a strong runner for sure. I have a few things I can do to still get a few ponies outta the build. I know just getting it dyno tuned would help for +2 or 3.

I know I was running a bit rich as when I was doing some hill shots I could let off the gas and get a nice back fire. :(
