I was planning on getting some Dirt Skins shock covers. I dont like the look of the stock grey springs, i thought about having them recoated.

If i get them, ill surely have to take them off during each wash, to make sure to get anything out that might make it behind the cover.

I'm kinda liking the red/black ghost flame.

Wonder if i could get them to make some solid black ones.

Thoughts?

IMO,if your going with shock covers, don't bother with recoating the springs. Dirt, and especially sand will find it's way into the cover and grind your finish away anyway.

I was going to do one or the other, eather get covers or get them recoated. Would the heat process of powdercoating change the spring ratios?

Might I suggest. When looking for shock covers. look for neoprene style vs the nylon/plasticy ones. The nylon ones wear the f*ck out of the powder coating on the springs. Neoprene seems to hold a LOT better.

Yeah ,I like the neoprine ones, I wouldn't have the others. The others look baggy, which look cheap imo.
