Planning on cleaning up the mess of tools, and start on the jig this afternoon. I'll throw in some pics if i come up with anything interesting.

Any advice on the jig or internal bracing?

Natural Raptor has one too...MATT!!!!!

You rang!!!  I will be glad to help with this. Here is the thread on mine. http://www.raptorsource.com/forum/index.php?topic=3990.0

dpe_ele - you are correct in wanting to do an angle cut

I went through the group buy from KOB and his welder did an excellent job. I went with the +4 and it has been one of the best mods I have ever done. 1badazz_700 was in the same group buy too. His pics look great too. He left his bare aluminum and I powder coated mine. If you look really, really, really, really close you can see the angle cut and weld line after the grinding right behind the shock mount. KOB powder coated one before and it bubbled on him and he advised me not to powder but my local powder guy stated he could do it. Ask anyone for the rally at LS Oklahoma about mine because I got a few compliments. If you have any question I can send you my number.
Good luck.

Matt, do you got contact info for KOB, I haven't seen him around lately ???

Jig
You'll need something up front on either side that would allow the swingarm pivot bolt to be installed and locate that end.
At the rear I'll think you'll want to pick up off the carrier mount ID so things stay square relative to the front.
It's pretty hard trying to describe how to build a jig but being square/true should obviously be perimount. Having the ability to lengthen it while maintaining true is also just as important.

Bracing
From what I could see inside mine with the carrier removed was a single plate approx 1/8-3/16 thick, mounted vertically. It was welded to the top and bottom. It extended all the way aft and was actually trimmed to allow for the carrier installation. How far fwd it extended I couldn't see but I would assume as far as possible to pick up the loading from the shock linkage mounts.

Not sure any of this helps.

Not anymore. I used to PM him on modded so try that if you want. Someone had stated his fabricator got hurt but that was a while back. I believe Gunny tried to get him to do a swinger and that fell thru.

K, we actually decided not to make much of a jig(going to make a "one time" type thing), because we thought it would have been a ton of work for just making one that would work "perfectly"(all though we had some awesome jig ideas). So we decided to "perfectly wing it". We decided to literally tack it down to a big thick square piece of aluminum(we have almost unlimited supply of aluminum).

We took ALOT of measurements before we finally had it in place good enough to tack, but its within 0.001"(we have a nice set of calipers on hand).

I'll post pics of whats done so far later tonight.

Worked on it for a bit today, didn't have much time, but got the internal bracing near complete. We plan on extending the external stock rib bracing, to make it look even more stock, but that will be one of the last steps.

Hers some pics from this morning.

Yeah, very cheap indeed! Same reason i'm doing mine myself.

I figure all my expenses will be in extending the brake cable/line, sending the rear shock off to get redone, and if i decide to powdercoat.

No new pics today, didn't really have anyting worthy of pics today.

Pretty much just got everything on location and tacked down solid. Tomorrow should show huge progress.
