Sand, that will go bang just fine.  It won't be terribly accurate at 100 yards, but if you don't really care about punching sub MOA groups, then go for it.  You can get several different complete uppers from Del-Ton right now for the same $395.  I'm more of a fan of the mid-length (http://www.del-ton.com/AR_15_Barrel_Assembly_p/dt1023.htm) myself over the M4 profile, but to each their own.

Would you buy a Kel Tec shotgun?  Click for pic, I linked it but it's huge so I took it out.

http://www.keltecweapons.com/news/preview-kel-tec-shotgun-ksg

The time for secrecy is nearing its end.  This SHOT Show, Kel-Tec will be revealing its next ground-breaking product: the KSG (Kel-Tec Shotgun).

The KSG is our first entry into the shotgun market.  The size, shape and design are similar to the currently available Kel-Tec RFB rifle, but the KSG ejects downward, instead of forward.  The KSG weighs 6.9lbs and is as compact as legally possible with a 26.1" overall length and an 18.5" cylinder bore barrel.  Even with this compact size, the internal dual tube magazines hold an impressive 14 rounds of 12 gage 2-3/4" rounds (7 per tube).  The simple and reliable pump action feeds from either the left or right tube.  The feed side is manually selected by a lever located behind the trigger guard.  The lever can be positioned in the center detent in order to easily clear the chamber without feeding another round from either magazine.  A cross bolt style safety blocks the sear, and the pump release lever is located in front of the trigger guard.

The pump includes an under Picatinny rail for the mounting of a forward grip, or a light or laser.  The included top Picatinny sight rail will accept many types of optics or iron sights.  Forward and rear sling loops are built in, and a basic sling is included.  The soft rubber butt pad helps to tame recoil.

MSRP has not been officially been set, but we are looking at the $800.00 range.
That is really different. Not sure why you would need 14 rounds in a 12 guage though. Either a lot of zombies or you cant shoot for shit.

Chrome lining isn't a big deal unless you truly plan to shoot the shit out of it.  The chrome will last longer and clean easier, but we're talking thousands and thousands of rounds here.

Or you're just too lazy to reload in the face of the oncoming zombie hoards.  Being able to select which mag tube you feed from is cool, slugs in one, buckshot in the other.

I didn't know that about Israeli bulk being dirty.  I would have thought it would be good stuff.  Maybe that's their export stuff.  When people say ammo is dirty, does that mean it takes longer clean or it will build up more gunk faster to the point of a malfunction?  Kind of a weird question but if everybody cleans their rifle after they shoot, why does it matter?  Not saying I was to shoot it if it's dirty and making my life more difficult, just curious now.  Dude, I'll tell you some dirty ammo and that's the 7.62x54R surplus.  CLP, patches, bore snake, patches, brush, patches....  ERMAHGERD.

I've read in one place only that you can shoot a 62+ grain bullet out of a slow twist barrel and under-stabilize it and it will have a greater likelihood of tumbling and doing weird things when it hits soft tissue.  Accuracy will obviously suffer because it will start to wobble and tumble in flight before very long.  I'm not running out and buying a 1:12 barrel to test this though so I'll call it a maybe.

That Kel Tec would be fun to tear stuff up with if it was semi auto.  Go to the skeet range:  pull! pull! pull! pull! pull! pull! pull! pull! pull!  "Sir, we're going to have to ask you to leave."

Did some windshield shooting today with a couple friends.  I no longer feel safe behind a car windshield!  I mistakenly somehow felt somewhat safe before thinking a shot or two would deflect from a good windshield because of the angle.  My friend said, nope.  Unless it's an extreme angle, it will penetrate.  The bullet will change direction slightly after it passes through but we didn't try to measure it.  Shot it with .22 hollow point from a pistol first.  Straight through the glass.  We laid the glass down and hit it from varying angles with a 9mm.  That was pretty cool because the low angle shots made glass blow out everywhere.  Little tiny slivers sprinkling down.

Now a few weeks ago I shot a windshield with a pellet gun.  Ping!  With ten pumps it barely put a tiny divot in the glass, looked like a minuscule sand chip.  At first a buddy thought I missed it entirely but you could clearly hear the ricochet buzzing off.

disco about the israeli ammo, it is so dirty i have cycling problems after 100-120 rounds and it will double feed a shell. the chamber gets so dirty the extractor cant pull the shell out of the chamber and it triestoshove a second shell in. it leaves a nasty sutty greasy mess. i just bought this ammo cause the cases are really good for reloading. also if i shoot a couple mags of the bulk then one mag of reloads or hornady taps it cleans then gun out enough to shoot more.

oh and about shooting windshields back when i was a kid i found the fun with breaking a spark plug and throwing the pieces at glass and watching it shatter. we ended up finding some ceramic rods just smaller that a pellet, broke it up and shot everything made of glass we could find. amazing how something so small make glass go boom

That is like magic to me, haha.  A friend told me about that so we busted up an old spark plug I flicked it with thumb and middle finger at a windshield.  The whole thing shattered.  You can do more damage with a pellet sized piece than you can with a cinder block.  We sat there and watched it and you could still hear it crackle for another minute or two as the cracks just went all over.

I think you can get ceramic rods out of some of the outdoor flood lights, just not sure what type.  Same friend uses those rods on his knife.

You know, it's probably a good thing we don't live remotely close to each other because we'd be tearing some stuff up.
