I'm wanting to coat my garage floor ASAP and want to know if anyone has any experience. Of course I want something resonably priced, but I also dont want it to be flaking up in 6 months. One of my inlaws has tried the kind that Home Depot sells, and it's peeling up already.

My garage is about 1100 Sq Ft. So I know its not going to be cheap.
Just a little 81hp trail bike.

My buddy acid etched the floor and used Gray Epoxy. It looked real good and has lasted a long time. This was quite a while back, so they have even better Epoxy now. Here's a source:     http://www.superfloorcoat.com/concrete-ts100.asp

I'm with Randy on the epoxy coating, you can get alot of different coatings but if you want it to look badass and last forever, get a good quality epoxy coat

phucker

ya dont use any latex coating, they are cheaper but only last a year or so.

vomit can cover large areas quickly, sticks to everything in site, but takes a long time for the smell to settle down
on second thoughts, best stick with the epoxy

I have seen both last a long time. It's all in the prep!!! If there is any oil spots left in the concrete beofrre you paint with latex, it could break down faster. Oil based paint will last longer but be slippery and take more paint to cover. Latex can be more sensitive to temp change and water. If the concrete is prepped right, and covered well with the paint, all should be well. I need to do mine, been putting it off. :help:

You better be doing something, what with all the bukakke going on that man cave.

preddy, ask around.. I thought NEW concrete had to be left raw for a year or so
I might be wrong, but I thought you had to let it age a bit (like the 12 year old in my trunk)
