allright, after 8 months of having my 2005 altima ive decided ive had enough of my crappy stock stereo.  my dillema is that my alpine dvd (ivad300) screen/player doesnt play nice with my Audison LRX 250, somehow through the pre-outs, when i crank on the volume,  the deck it over voltages the inputs on the Audison and cuts the amp out.  I havent been up and up on the head units in like 4 years so im asking for some options.  my only criteria is a CLEAN and QUALITY unit that doesnt exceed 750$.  i have run across a few contenders they are as follows:

Eclipse cd7200mkii  http://www.eclipse-web.com/us/cd/cd7200overviews.html
alpine cda9887   http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/product.php?model=CDA-9887
and oddly enough a pioneer deh=p800prs    http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/In-Dash/CD-Players#section=models

these are just decks ive run across and there are no clear winners and im looking for more options.

My build list is as follows:

-focal 5.5 k2powers
-audison LRX250
-mtx thunder 9500 t9515-44
-mtx te1501d amplifier
-2 farad worth of capacitors, optima red top battery, fully dynamatted car, and various high quality signal/power cables

i do not care about ipod but want something that does USB, blue tooth isnt really a concern either, and i dont need any head unit power at all as i only run 3 channels (fronts and a sub) and i have all the power i need.

I bought this one about a month ago for my truck and I love it so far. It runs about 300-350 bucks so that would save you some on what you were looking to spend and it can do everything you are wanting, including the usb drive. one thing I have found that I don't like is that you can only play up to 100 songs in each folder on the usb. If you have more then 100 songs, you cannot play them and it does not even show them. Just kinda sucks when my rock folder has about 700 songs, so I had to make 7 or 8 different folders just for those.

My vote is for the Pioneer. No real reason other than experience. Almost Every head unit I have ever put in has been Pioneer. ZERO problems. Always easy to use. Had an Alpine once.. didn't care for it.  No quality issues. Just like the controls from Pioneer better. I have one right now.

ECLIPSE Hands down..  I have alot of head units and Eclipse sounds the best and has the best features out of them all IMO..

i like the eclipse because it is a dead head unit, and copper chasis, but i hear the usb reader is tough to deal with and the display is hard to read, but the pioneer is copper chasis and the usb functions are awesome and it is easy to read.  i have no idea what im gonna do  ::)

Sounds like you need to adjust your gains. Maybe need a new amp with more power or more sensitive speakers. Might evan check the ohm load on the amp to see if it is stable for that amp. I have been into car audio for a while and helped my friend run a shop and gains not adjusted and running to small of an amp are most of the problems I see. Turn the gains down and see if that helps.

Ps to much pre out voltage has never been a problem, only to little

well i can see too little voltage being a problem, but why would a ground loop isolator fix the problem?  also there is no way to adjust the voltage on the pre-outs, so i cant fix it that way. as for the gains on the amp they were pretty much nill.  if you look at my components closely you will see that the speakers dont really get any more sensetive, and the amps are more than overkill for the application.   anyways after all of this i bought an eclipse 7100 http://www.eclipse-web.com/us/cd/cd7100overviews.html    i got a smoking deal and hope it doesnt let me down.  thanks for any and all input.
