+1 wobble on the Lenovo's.. I don't think any places sell them though, they are more corporate/company geared laptops.

They are more geared towards corporate, but I've found they are extremely durable. Some users just aren't gentle with their notebooks. Another HUGE benefit with them is you can do an XP downgrade. My experience with Vista hasn't been positive, both in a corporate and home environment. They are available online through various retailers and through lenovo.com. I think they are around $1000, so that's out of his price range. Sometimes you can find them for $500 - $750 when they are doing promotional deals though. Might be worth a look.

Nice! You ARE a computer guy, aren't you! You know what to buy.

I recently purchased 3 of those for some of our sales guys. They love 'em! I've got an older T41 I use at home when I need a portable computer. These things are build like tanks!

Been a computer nerd since I was like... 10 and my mom brought home her first laptop for work. Was addicted.

Work in Information Security so I don't get to see as much of the hardware as I'd like to but... That's okay!

Just upgraded from the T42  Wasn't a bad laptop, but when it's stuck in the corporate world running all our apps for just everyday security, they get bogged down. We don't get the option to buy old ones.. they send them to IBM to be scrubbed and then donated to some place. :(

Peelz

I am more than satisfied with our Dell. No problems other than Vista having a IE issue.
Krandall: "peelz. I'll be real with you. As much as I hate on you for soccer, I really don't mind it"

I have a Dell Inspiron 1150 Laptop that has been flawless for going 5 years now, and I just upgraded to a new Dell Inspiron 1500 and so far I love it.
We run all Dell laptops where I work and have had real good luck with them there as well. My old 1150 is still going strong so I'm gonna pass it down to my daughter to replace her old Dell PIII 700MHZ relic. I can't complain about the Dell Laptops at all.

Where do you sell them?  And that isn't a bad price.

Just an FYI....I'd advise you to look at the Sony before ordering it. Their keyboards have more than average spacing between the keys. Some people really don't like that.

Nothing wrong with a Toshiba Satellite. They've been making notebooks for a long time. That one should work well for ya.
