I plan on getting a external drive too once I'm working again.  But I was going to wait till you get down here so we can head over to tiger direct set me up.

I would rather put the majority of that on a external HDD so you dont risk loosing that stuff. Do you have it backed up anywhere?

all pictures have been burned on to cd's over the last few years and the movies are on dvd's.

Just wanted to say..any body thinking of buying a laptop should consider a Dell. Price wasn't terrible. So far the service has been quite good.

Had two problems with it (both puppy related lol) Both times the problem was fixed quickly. Via online chat support...which is better than phone. Usually somebody in Sri-friggin-Lanka who barely speaks English, but tells me his name is Bob.

For your average end user PC. It's hard to go wrong with any of the big brands really.... Dell, Gateway, HP, Ect..
