ok i got my new tube in yesterday. i'm going to start assembling everything soon. there is still a spot on just the outside of the new tube. it's not all the way through but i'm going to put some GOOP or some plastic weld stuff on there just to make sure. i would suggest, like many of you guys said, if any one gets a new one or didn't really look over your current FCI tube i would do it. this is pretty ridiculous paying almost $300 for something that could potentially distroy my engine.

and a big thanks to Steve at TQS for getting me a new one shipped out quick.    again like i told you man i know this isn't your fault FCI should have better inspections.

I have to make a comment on the FCI intake, now that I have one and installed it on my 780.

First off, it gave me 2.5 HP on the dyno with my new combo and made my curve much better. If it wasn't for that I would not have spent the money on it. I feel the quality is lacking and the fitment is poor for the asking price.
I know if I made a product that worked that well, I would want to make sure the supplied hose's were of the right size, that the bracket didn't need to be modified and that the Tube didn't chafe on the battery bracket and lastly, I would have sized the air temp sensor hole so the sensor fit in it a little tighter. I also would have included instructions. I bought mine brand new in the box from rooster built. This was the most, frustrating. ill fitting after market piece I have installed yet and had I not seen what it would do for my bike on the dyno right before my eye's I wouldn't have been happy with it at all...... just my personal opinion and observations.

I agree with everything Randy has said, but wanted to add. I have had my FCI since they first came out and have had many issues, but Garrett has stepped up and fixed any problems I have brought to his attention. Could it be better.....should it be better....YES, but at least he backs his product. Guys with issues should email Garrett at his site and recommend changes you think will help. He seems open to suggestions.

there are already some small changes in the works , yes its hard to install and may require a bit of adjusting/customizing......but it makes power! ;)

100% agree with Randy, for the money it should be a more "polished" product.  It should fit well and not need a bunch of tinkering to get it right.  I'm bummed that I can't run the rubber battery cover any more, and the brackets to hold the tail section on (boxless version) needed to be reshaped a lot to fit right.  But you can't argue with the results.

i had to make my own adapter to get the air sensor to fit in my fci tube.  and fitment was an issue for me too.  directions would have been nice too, coming with 2 different sizes of hoses it was a bit confusing.

ok well i got everything put back together. and with the "seat of your pants" dyno i could tell a difference. better throttle reponse, more power, all good things. the fit up was like many said little difficult but i got it put together. i can't wait to get my map changed up alittle and really ride this thing.

steve at TQS did a great job taking care of me with this whole deal. thanks again man.

i would recommend a FCI to anybody that thinks about getting one. just be ready to fight the install slightly. i did a write up on my install in the "how-to" section. i hope it helps some people.
