so like the dumbass i am (first step is admitting lol) i cut the wrong wire when trying to bypass my speedlimiter permantly without having the engine light ever come on. i cut the TEAL/LIGHT GREEN one instead of the baby blue and grounded it. When i went to start my quad the fuel injecter pumped primed the gas then i press the start button and it just keeps cranking but never turns on. so i try putting back the wires together like they were originally and when i go to start the same thing happens!

i did disconnect my battery in between all this. i checked to make sure the PCV didnt loose the map and it did not.

wtf did i do?

Danny T

and after im done trying to start it, it just keeps tryna give it more fuel (like when you first turn it on)..weird?

try a different ECU and nothing still...????

Colorado700R

TPS ???

maybe try resetting via PC3 software (not sure if PCV has it ??? )

Danny T

will try to reset tps. When i press the start button, all the lights turn on as if i had just turned the key to the ON position...

Danny T

i took out my spark plug and grouned it, NO SPARK. maybe i fried this wire? i cannot find where it goes to. I am thinking i need to replace it, can i do that without replacing the whole harness...

I am leaning towards ECU... when looking at the table. If you look @ the other chart w/ the flow diagram. the Speed sensors first stop is right to the ECU.  Really that's the only thing it can be. The only thing that controls spark is the CDI and the ECU.

That wire goes to the self diagnosis signal coupler, I would check the fuses first. since you said you replaced the CDI and ECU I would make sure you have all good fuses and double check that the CDI and ECU are working still on the other quad I assume you barrowed it from. You also have a relay that controls both the fuel pump and the starting circuit cut off check that relay it may have burt out when you grounded that wire. That relay supplies power to the ignition coil the other side of the coil connects to the ECU to fire the ignition coil. I think your problem may be that relay. If you have the manual  or can download it look at the wire scematic for the ignition system you can see everything that wire is tied through and how the relay is connected internely

i made a mistake guys, did not replace CDI, JUST THE ECU. I will double check the Fuses once i get home.

Homesteadraptor: i was also looking at the ignition cluster of all the wires and noticed how the light green wire connects to the brown wire. i will look for that after i check the fuses again once i get home.

So will the relay be inbetween these light green and brown wire passage. or is it somewhere else. i keep reading about the relay in the ignition cluster that contains the wire diagram in the electrical section of the manual.

i was looking at the wiring diagram again. You want to find a 10 amp fuse that has a brown/green wire on one side then goes to a red wire on the other side of the fuse. If that fuse is good i strongly feel it's the relay cluster. follow that brown wire then it ties to a  brown/green wire follow it to the relay you need to check. Good Luck

thanks again, will report back at 9:30pm ET which is when i get home after i check it.
