still thinking bad idea, takes a lot of cleaning to remove petroleum products.  I wash mine in the sink, set it next to heater vent during winter, or window sill in the summer.

what do you think about baking headers in an oven?  ???

350 deg , 20 minutes per pound then let cool for 10 minutes and serve with horseradish. Maybe a side of chilled greens. Enjoy.

I know a dishwasher gets hot enough to kill all bacteria in a sponge, and its the only thing that will do that.So how bad could it really be?i understand it causing problems with a pestiside.

+1 petroleum products cannot be  "killed" you must emulsify them to remove them.......via steam and/or heavy degreaser.  Even then, not reliable.
