i'm thinking that since it's made of steel it would be a crap load heavier then the cast aluminum stocker. but i might be wrong

I agree, sir. and looks heavy. But if cheap, then worth it, only after a wreck, and you need to replace it. I would'nt just put that thing on there for nothing.
