Cosmonaut Aleksei Leonov, leaving his spacecraft Voskhod 2 for 12 minutes, becomes the first person to walk in space.

So.. I've been thinking.... We landed on the moon and all..... I'm not a conspiracy theorist or anything. but... If we did.. How come we haven't been back? I'm sure there's plenty of things to look at on there.. ???

We are more focused on the space station now. There was a rumor that NASA had planned on going back to the moon, but the shuttle isn't a moon capable vehicle. The costs to develop new technology to send men or women to the moon would be outrageous.

the trip to the moon was as much a polotical parlee as a science experiment.  We could strike fear into the USSR if we could have an off planet capablity (IE missiles from the moon)

Strike fear with missiles from the moon?
