I dont know if you guys have ever been to hatfield mccoy trails, but when you get to a mud hole there is no way around it. And there is no easy way of telling how deep it is. I have tried going through some that look like they are about 4 inches then drop to about 3 feet.

I'm saying by this thread, I LIKE TO GO THROUGH THE MUD.
Having a snorkel would decrease the worries i have when i go through it.

Two pages of threads and maybe one post actually is helpful?! Come on, guys.

A while back I was trying to find a way to make a snorkel that didn't require surgery and could be removable for those times when I didn't want to look like a dork. I was going to do a variation of this:

Remember though: More than just a snorkel is needed if you're planning to go deep.

Maybe remove the airbox and run a inline air filter in the snorkel

that would be the best for sealing purposes. pipe mounted directly to intake, air filter at other end. routing it would be the SOB.

True, but it would save the airbox from getting butchered, also switching back and for would be easy

Hnestly, I drove the 660 through some thick stuff, and never had trouble, even doing a creek ride....not counting the rusted and blown wheel bearings  ) Unless you are in mud past your shins, you probably don't need a snorkel. Once you are that far, Rappy probably isn't going to move. NO offense, just being honest. Not much of a mud machine once mud gets past depth of a-arm clearance. Unless, it is a short mud hole, then maybe.

Well, I don't think the raptor will move if you've got mud over you're knee...

But even so, I would take the complete airbox out, and make a direct tubing to the back of the bike, making it secure to the grab bar, and a 90 degree upwards. In the top end, I would do some kind of aerial airbox, as you can see in some older farm tractors. Nothing too fancy, since it's out of the main water/mud/dust area. Use a lot of silicon sealant, and goo washers.

It is possible!  ;)

I think you are just asking for maintenance issues, but each to their own
