Just want to give props to monoprice.com

Bought 150 feet of cat 6 cable at my local microcenter, 39.99 for 50' and 74.99 for 100'.  Found a mismarked 100' for 49.99 and bought it thinking I'd gotten a steal.



Went to monoprice.com afterwards and found cat 6 cable for under 7 dollars for 50', with ends.  I bought 100 zip ties and 100 sticky mounting tabs too and even after paying for 2 day shipping I spent half what microcenter wanted for a 50' cable.

Needless to say I will be returning the 96 dollars worth of cat 6 to microcenter.

2TB is a big as consumer retail drives get right now, and you pay a price premium to get them.

Cheapest bet for a 2 TB drive is the hitachi, 150 dollars now.  Seagate's 7200 rpm model is around 170, western digital green drives still close to that 200 dollar price point, though some sell them for about 180.

On the other hand, 1.5TB seagate 7200.12 drives (not the crappy .11 drives) are around 110, a better $/gb ratio than the 2tb and still an awfully big drive.
