Im building a 700r raptor that the stock wrist pin broke out of the piston. it took out the cylinder and crank.  For a crank should we stay with oem or go to a stroker? if so what brands are good and who do we look out for? And we need a new cylinder, so for reliability do we want to go back to oem, or an aftermarket brand, ive seen cp. is there any others? we had already planned on a package from racers edge for porting and such. now we have an excuse to go bigger.  the bike is used for wide open fire roads, pit riding and trail riding.  ive been building mx 450 motors for a bit but have never looked into the big bore motors until now an with stroking an big bores the combos are endless.

heres some pics of the carnage!

That looks a lot like mine did in August.
Go with a Hotrods 5 mil stroker a lot of bang for the buck.

I would go with the hotrods +5mm crank, and high compression piston. This can all be done for a good price,I think i seen on raptor forum a 734cylinder and piston for $450.00 today. and a modded head with cam for cheap also

Just a little 778
105.5 WK cylinder CP 11:1
hotrods +5 crank
racersedge +2 head,with webb4

Wow, That thing is torn up  :jaw:

id suggest a hotrod +5 crank and a stock cylinder.  piston and cam are up to you but i havent liked what ive heard and read about the big bore kits.   kds makes a really awesome cam and piston, and some of our sponsors like dl700 carry them.  if trail is what you are riding the torque of a stroker crank is the way to go :grin_nod:

If you have time. I'd suggest shooting Bo (VelociRaptor) A PM. He can clean that thing up for you!!!! He does sleeving. So you could go back to the stock bore, or you could have a 105mm sleeve dropped in for you :) :)

so we nearly have this beast back together.  +5 hotrods crank, je 11.5:1 stock bore, webcam 40c/932 grind, kibblewhite valves and spring kit, head porting, barker duals and pc3.  I couldnt convince him to go with any intake for the time being so stock is what we got with a proflo kit. now maybe im not searching in the correct areas but ive looked thru pciii.raptorsource.com for a map somewhat close until we get to the dyno but have come up with nothing. can any one help a fella out.  thanks!

Do you have the Throttle body bored?

I'd go with the plus 5 stroker crank  . So far none of my customers mentioned anything bad about the +5.

If I were you I would get the throttle body bored (maybe +3) and a intake (maybe fci), oh yeah and a custom map.  Do you have a dyno anywhere near you?

yup were defintaly taking it to the dyno.  and the owner is a little short on cash now after this build.  but knowing him he will be longing for more power soon enough.

so i have the motor in and everything is hooked up. but she wont start.  theres spark but i dont think the injector is working? the fuel pump turns on but theres nothing coming thru the injector. i checked all connections and i dont know whatsup now. im a bit lost.

Krandall

My first suggestion. Would be try hooking up the stock plugs insted of the PCIII and see if the injector sprays.. If it does... There's something messed up w/ the PCIII.. If it doesn't you could have a plugged injector.

ok so the bike starts and runs with the pc3 unhooked.. as soon as we hook it back up no go..  the ground is connected to the starter relay the tps is hooked up the lights on pc3 do their thing but it wont send any fuel whats the deal.
